Back to the subject.
It isn't the administration making those mistakes. It's obviously those State agencies who report the erroneous data. Those errors are being detected by the oversight agency and corrected as time will tell.
Did you read their report and the announcement by the administration that there obviously is a strong need to educate the STATE agency reporters on how to file their reports?

I should still have my Sinclair micro drives and a few of those micro tapes with my own programs laying around....Image

Hey WWII, just don't miss my smilies in my posts, will ya!

Jabra

It sure sounds like I have to now try to dazzle you... I never wrote any programs except for playing games... Now listen to this one... I wrote a Banking Program on a Serial Computer that had a 4.8 K MemoryImage but even thou I used parts of the memory bits for different things, and still did not have enough Memory to handle the Program, and remember that we used a Card Reader to load the Program, then at the end of the program, I used a small part of memory to load in more Cards to finalize the Banking Program to total up everything including the Print out... Remember that after loading the other Cards, it wiped out what I was using except for what I wanted to keep for the final calculations... Clever hey what?Image

Incidentally, I enjoy your smiles, and I did not keep any of those old things that we used and wished I did... Incidentally, after retired, I went to work with ITT Institute teaching Computers along with Word Perfect, Word Star, DBIII and spreadsheet at Durham, NC... I worked with some professors from Duke that worked part time here with me... We had a lot of fun together... Even the students use to all call me Professor WWII last name not known...Image

This is turning into being fun Jabra, and I enjoy it for an 83 old, no nothing...Image Will keep all your smiles in mind...

4.8 KB? My very first own computer had already 48Kb

But I learned a little programming on a MAI computer we got some time around '78. I had to watch the computer maintenance guy typing in his password and as soon as he left I went right in it and tried to figure out what the heck those lines of code meant.
Didn't take long to change it a little bit so my colleges received a pop-up every time they wanted to use our only printer since the software I was using needed exclusive access to the printer at certain times.
I even found a software error in one of their programs and I got invited to MAI's HQ in Stuttgart for it. Took a while to convince their programmers that there was indeed an error and afterwards they had to correct their code for their probably less than 200 customers in Germany.
I'm quite sure that it was FORTRAN. Before that MAI computer we used some kind of ticker tape which had to be sent to another city for data processing by a specialized company and we got the printouts back once a week.

I feel quite certain that your right about the State Agencies, and I feel sure that most will get corrected, as you said "As time goes by" Great song wasn't it?Image Yes I have been reading about everything that they are doing and they will eventually find and correct all errors as we go into this...I do feel that all of the folks involved in reporting this data, should have had some good training before advancing into this so fast...

I will not be surprised to hear much more of this from the ABC's, NBC's and CBS, and I feel that if they were not concerned then they would not be reporting it...Image
