Most people have had compassion for this woman. I call her an uber-bitch.... but DAMN she's funny!!!!
This local story made national news about 2 months ago. The woman was arrested for refusing to return a football that landed in her yard, accidentally tossed over by a neighborhood kid. The father of the kid claimed that the boy paid for the ball with his own earnings ($15) and that the landing was completely accidental. After she refused to return the ball, the woman suggested he call the police, so he did after trying in vain to reason with her. The police implored her to return the ball, but she still refused... so they arrested her. The dad refused to file any charges.
You can read the original story here (very short)... its worth reading to get both sides of the story.
Now... there's more to the story. The old bitty is suing the parents of the 11 year old boy claiming she has suffered emotional distress because of the footballs landing in her yard. She STILL refuses to return the football, and it is now being saved for evidence.
Our local news station sat down with her and did a ridiculously long interview, and posted it on their website. The interview is SO FREAKIN' FUNNY... they're interrupted constantly with calls from lawyers wanting to take on her case, concerned grandkids, the Associated Press, Washington, Cleveland... other media outlets.... almost nonstop during the interview. Damn... I was cracking up!!!!
So if you have some patience... I highly suggest you watch this 18 minute interview....mostly for your own amusement.
The woman is a BITCH, a whack-job and at 89 years old, I don't care WHAT her ailments are, or whatever else her motivation is for continuing to be such a pain in the ass... I really hope she gets bitch slapped back by the law, the community, and the neighbors.
Every neighborhood's got one, I suppose.... but this fruitloop takes the cake.

I read the article but have not watched the clip yet ~ she IS feisty ~ and suing seems a tad harsh ~ Image ~ I don't get why, since she planned on giving the football back, she didn't give the football back ~ seems to me that the occasional football or baseball or soccer ball landing in her garden is small price to pay for lawnmowing services ~ but I'm just not sure this granny is as tough as the one in the news the other day who, when robbed by a guy who just happened to be naked, grabbed his testicles ~ and "squeezed with all her strength" ~ Image

Maybe she was lonely and just wanted some attention (not the way I would have gone about making friends but...).

She referred to the family of the ball throwers as "the enemy". She basically said at the end of the clip that she didn't want to be bothered by them playing ball near her home. They get on her nerves.

My mother is 91 and talks about her great grandchildren /my great nieces/nephews getting on her nerves also. They don't seem to want to be bothered even listening to their noises. A lot of attitudes/behaviors become more extreme with advanced age.

They should just try to play away from this woman as she's old, ungreatful and set in her ways.

My mom is 84 ~ and has slipped into the "crotchetty" stage too ~ she would never have given a second thought as recently as 5 years ago to some of what she reacts to VERY negatively today ~ we tease her about becoming what she has always hated in others ~ she recognizes the truth and laughs at that ~ but it hasn't seemed to help much ~
