Maybe it's an after-holiday let-down ~ or maybe it's the Israel/Gaza conflict ~ or maybe it's Russia stopping delivery of gas to the Ukraine and Europe ~ or maybe it's the economy and financial melt-down ~ or maybe it's the unending exposure of graft and corruption in our political system ~ or maybe it's the evident and out-of-control greed we are witnessing ~ or maybe it's the selective-morality, and accompanying selective-acceptance/approval pushing buttons ~ or maybe, just maybe, it's a kind of "national paranoia" taking hold ~ but I'm feeling more than a tad over-whelmed ~ we seem to have lost our human balance ~ and I'm feeling like I woke up in a parallel universe, where the earth is in significant danger of slipping off its axis ~ is it just me?

No, I don't think it's just you.

I think the country is in the worse shape that I've seen in my lifetime.

I don't think our country can maintain it's standing at the rate the plutocracy is sucking the blood from it.

It's not just you. People got all excited and elected Obama and celebrated change. Then they realized he's only human and the messes left him are beyond anything anyone has seen before. Any one of them is challenging, but put them all together and it's too much. You think now we have the right one and then one of his choices screws him. So, we question is there really a change or just more of the same. There is a change, a big change. We should still be happy about the choices in the elections but we need to all stop and catch our breath. All the problems will take time and things may look worse before they look better. At least we have leadership now who may really want to fix things. It is overwhelming. The world seems to be ready to explode. If we show the right leadership the rest of the world may find it's sanity.

Take a deep breath, sooz. We'll all make it through.

I felt the same way. Then I determined that I cant do a damn thing about all those external factors and might as well work on myself. Making sure my budget is in place, improving my health, looking for opportunities to help others. Being proactive is the only way to get oneself out of the funk of all that is bad going on around us.
