I just reread your post, oskar, and I think we are very close to both saying the same thing ~ especially if you include my prior comment [to the one you quoted] which was "there is no evidence that tax cuts for the wealthy create jobs" ~

IMO, tax cuts that increase domestic spending on domestic goods/services may create jobs - that would mean that the lower taxable income brackets would  likely generate the the greatest spending.
However, that is not the same as stating that there is a proven causal relationship between income tax rates in general and economic activity in general... nor has that relationship ever been proven concerning the wealthy.
To categorically state that tax cuts to the wealthy does not create jobs is no better than stating that they do.

Rich Americans Save Tax Cuts Instead of Spending, Moody's Says

Give the wealthiest Americans a tax cut and history suggests they will save the money rather than spend it.

Tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 under President George W. Bush were followed by increases in the saving rate among the rich, according to data from Moody's Analytics Inc. When taxes were raised under Bill Clinton, the saving rate fell.

They support the extension of the current tax rates

For the wealthy who don't need them, at the expense of everyone else who does. Then again, screwing over the little guy is what Republicans do best.

Not only Republicans. "Screwing the little guy" has always been the favourite sport for those who have the power to do so.

Not really. Government-subsidized Eskimos.
