A military commander from Canadian Forces Base Trenton in eastern Ontario has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of two women.

Col. Russell Williams, 46, of Tweed, the top commander at 8 wing CFB Trenton, was arrested Sunday in Ottawa, Ontario Provincial Police Det.-Insp. Chris Nicholas said at a news conference Monday.

Williams has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jessica Lloyd, 27, whose body was found Monday off Cary Road in the municipality of Tweed.

Lloyd had been missing since Jan. 28 from her home outside Tweed, about 30 kilometres north of Belleville.

Ontario's chief coroner is to conduct an autopsy on Lloyd's body, which arrived in Toronto late Monday afternoon.

Police are looking into two other unsolved murders that took place around 2000 - 2001. One of the victim's body was found ON THE BASE where Williams was stationed. Another was found dead in Nova Scotia when Williams was stationed there.

According to this article, he's also been charged in two area home invasions.  There's also some insight into how they determined him to be the suspect.

Seems like this case comes right out of the Criminal Minds TV series.  Surprising we don't hear about it in our media.  If you didn't tell us, I'd never have known.

Canadian news is seldom a blip on the American media's radar. If it weren't for a few Canadian entertainers or a few American politicians trashing our healthcare system, Americans wouldn't know Canada even existed.

Canadians have always known it... we use the analogy that "we're the mouse sleeping next to the elephant." We have to watch out when the elephant rolls over!

This actually gives me an idea....

Oh I don't doubt that we get a little bit of mention here and there but not anywhere near the amount of media attention the US gets in Canada.

Williams has apparently given a full statement and lead police to the body of one of his victims. He's also admitted to several home invasions and sexual assaults.

A couple nights ago in chat, I was talking to a member about another serial killer by the name of Paul Bernardo.  This guy and his wife were snatching up school girls and videotaping their rape and murder.  Truly a sick pair... now here's where it get's really strange.  It turns out that Russell Williams went to University of Toronto, attended the same courses, was in the same graduating class and was a friend of none other than Paul Bernardo.... this according to the Toronto Sun...

Normally I don't but they've apparently done their research on this and it was also reported by CBC.

The CBC is more credible.
I wonder if Williams has a pig farm in BC?
