Happy new year!!
Now I'm going to prepare myself for the New Years Dive in the Atlantic! Wish me not a hearth attack!
I'll be a few hours behind you and heading into the Pacific - unless I lose my nerve which is entirely possible since it's -4 right now. Would taking off my boot and sticking a toe in count as a "New Years Dive".
It wasn't that cold in the North Sea, the sea between England and the Netherlands. The temperatre was around 37 degrees fahrenheit, no wind and sunny. I only got really cold feet and took two dives. Last year it was 28 degrees fahrenheit, no sun and a lot of wind.... even before we were able to hit the water it was really painful.
Jim, how did your dive go? And whats the water temperature there? Here it was around 3-4 degrees celcius.. which is... 40 degrees fahrenheit?
For the doubters: It's an instant cure for ANY hangover... your body simply has other priorities during and after the dive.... gone is the headache and the nasseua.
