This isn't surprising to me, they aren't open on the Sabbath. But, I love a good boycott and this now goes on my list! Want to add it to yours?

Awwww too bad!Image Chik-fil-a is one of the things I crave every now and then, and miss here. I look forward to having a sandwich with those great waffle fries when I go to the US.

I will say I've always admired that they live by their convictions and do not open on Sundays. Their faith comes before profit. You don't see that at all any more. At least they walk the walk.

Easy for me to join this boycott, MP, since there aren't any Chick-Fil-As anywhere around me ~ but I'll join you in spirit ~ I'm still observing the boycott on Target ~ haven't been in a Target store since their BIG donations to anti-gay/anti-choice candidates in MN last fall ~

The only chick fil A in Wichita was in the university student union; here in Arkansas there's several Image...too bad they just couldn't stick with cooking chicken and those great waffle fries....this weekend I think I'll make my own batter fried chicken and make some real waffles to go with it:  saw that on the food network and have always wanted to try it....am on a diet and trying not to eat before going to bed...very hungry...will blow off the diet this weekend I think...have stretched the pack of cigs for 4 days now...dieting and not smoking is very hard....arrrrrgh.....guess it's affecting my writing!! Sorry.....

And the name is supposed to mean... what? I don't think I would be tempted to eat food from a place with a name like that... it just doesn't ring any bells with me.

Sid, in Alabama it was the first fast food place to serve fried chicken breast sandwiches. The very best ever, imo. After they opened and were so successful, the other places followed with their version, but not as good. Hubby got to taste one when we went there and he loves them.

Of course, now they offer other things, but at first it was the sandwiches and waffle fries only.

Edited to add: I would have thought you had seen the commercials on US stations at some point. Cows parachuting into a football game with signs that say "Eat Mor Chikin" or others. lol   http://www.chick-fil-a.com/#thecows

I don't have cable TV anymore so I have to say, I've never seen the ads.

Ahh,that's right, I forgot. Don't know how long they've been using TV ads, but they've been around for years. I would say about 20 or so.

They were also the first company to do 3D billboards in Alabama. It was a huge cow looking back over his shoulder, and they made it look like he was pasting the "Eat Mor Chikin" sign over a hamburger. Very clever.

This is one of my favorite places to eat when I can find one.  Lots of them in Texas but I have to drive over 50 miles to find one around these parts of the country.  I didn't know what I just read here about Target but I have never shopped there because there is just something about Target that I have never liked.
I will have to say that Chic-Fil-A has always been a company who believes their employees deserve to be off on Sunday to attend Church, etc.
