That's strange ~ I read earlier [I think in ThinkProgress or CNN Political Ticker] that Paul Ryan, the Ayn Rand hustler chair of the Budget Committee, would be giving the GOP response ~ I wonder which it will be ~ the GOP keeps trying to shut Bachmann up, so it's hard to believe they'd willingly give her prime time as their 'face' ~

Yes , Ryan is the official responder. I guess Bauhmann wants to throw in her 2 cents , nothing official whatsoever.

Oops I see I spelled her name wrong in the op ...I may have been thinking of the sequence of vowels in the second syllable of debauchery.

Why would Bachbitch need to say anything? We all know where she stands.

Here's the condensed version: ( warning: spoiler alert!) "I hate Obama, Democrats and Liberals and you should too."

Here's a CNN Political Ticker update that explains it ~ we know Bachmann is certifiable ~ but it's hard to believe that she is so far over the edge that she actually believes the Tea Party Express is the wave of HER future ~ Image ~ Sooz

Bachmann to give her own State of the Union rebuttal

CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

January 21st, 2011
03:21 PM ET

(CNN) – Move over Paul Ryan. Michele Bachman is giving her own rebuttal to President Obama's State of the Union Address next Tuesday.

While Ryan, the Republican congressman and budget guru, was officially tapped by his party to respond to the president's annual address, Bachmann has a few words of her own she'd like to express.

The Minnesota Republican, who has said she is considering a presidential bid, will broadcast her response to Tea Party activists on the Tea Party Express' website after the president's address. According to the organization, one of the most well known chapters of the grassroots organizations, the conservative firebrand will "take on Barack Obama."

It remains unclear if Bachmann will wait for Ryan's response to wrap up or go head to head with him.

A spokesman for Bachmann did not respond to CNN's request for comment.

I haveto believe that Minnesotans, who are ordinarily very sensiblepeople, will one day notice what this woman is doing in their name, and put a stop to it.

Back to Ryan ...isn't it Bill Kristol that said something to the effect he'd like a Ryan - Rubio 2012 ticket ?

He probably did.  He's also the one who foisted Sarah Palin on McCain.

Ticket to the nut house? Rubio could be in jail by that time.

I don't even know who Rubio is, but if Kristol likes 'em it's a sure bet that I won't.

After the mid term elections, Bachmann was talking about building a caucus within the Republican party that will allow them to decide which bills will pass and which ones won't. If you ask me, she is usurping control of the house from Boehner. I wonder how long he will allow her to play her game.

That's my Bunkie! Short stab and right to the point. Image
(Although I believe Rubio has enough of the good ole boys behind him to cover his ass and block any attempt to investigate. Besides he is a righty from Florida. Look at the criminal our right wing idiots selected as the new governor! Image)

jabra

It will be interesting to see how the biggest crook in the history of Medicare/Medicaid runs things.  Scott put up mega millions to finance his own campaign
and that convinced enough righties that his opponent's supposed theft of a smaller amount of money was worse that the theft that led to his company's fine of $1.2 BILLION

Maybe Bauchmann is mad at Ryan objecting to her seeking the House Republican Conference Chair. She likes to split within a group so that adds to her being a bit of a nightmare.

Macro , the tea party obviously prefers Bachmann's McCarthyism type rants. Ryan will be predictable.

To be honest , I think and as long as I can remember have thought that the president's state of the union to our nation should be just that.

A not-so-surprising but VERY public slap-down of Michelle Bachmann, which she richly deserves ~ given how extremely radical Paul Ryan's positions are, I'm very curious to hear his reaction/response ~ especially since it's the 'official GOP' message ~ Sooz

House majority leader says Ryan, not Bachmann speaks for the GOP

January 24th, 2011
03:47 PM ET
CNN Congressional Producer Deirdre Walsh

Washington (CNN) – There may be two House Republicans giving high-profile responses to President Obama's State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, but House Majority Leader Eric Cantor made it clear that it's the new House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, not Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann, who is speaking for the GOP.

"Paul Ryan is giving the official response," Cantor said when asked at his weekly session with reporters if Bachmann's response will step on the GOP message.

After House Speaker John Boehner and Senator GOP Leader Mitch McConnell announced on Friday that Ryan would deliver the GOP response, the Tea Party Express put out word that Rep. Bachmann would also be commenting on the President's speech and they would broadcast her remarks on their website. On Monday, her office welcomed network television coverage of her speech, which will be delivered from the Capitol Hill Club, just steps away from the U.S. Capitol campus.

Lumping Rep. Bachmann in with the rest of the entire membership of Congress, Cantor said, "You know Michelle Bachmann, just like the other 534 members of the House and Senate, are going to have opinions as to the State of the Union." The House Majority Leader added, "This is a process that happens every year and I look forward to all comments," and noted again that Ryan's was the official Republican response to the president.

Pressed by CNN that unlike most other members of Congress, Bachmann's remarks were expected to receive similar televised coverage as Ryan's official response, Cantor laughed, and asked, "Then maybe I should ask why is that the case?"
