I found this to be unbelievable that the Pro who had a 100 game had only 1 strike and the rest of the frames were mostly splits... The other Pro had all strikes but had a 9 pin and a wiggle on the last ball needed for a strike and a perfect game and ended up with 299...

well, 299 is an oustanding game, even for a pro. for most, it is a once in a handfull event. ditto for a 100 game. i have never heard of a score that low by a pro.

I haven't had a 100 game since I was 14... Yes 299 is an outstanding game and I have never had any... The closest I came is having the first 8 strikes followed by a spare and then I struck out... This happened twioce to me...
In case your interested it was the PBA Tournament of Champions on ABC... It is still going...
  

love bowling. my high game is 279, and my average about 100 below that....

You carry a great average and I use to be in your area as far as averages are concerned, but I sure would not want to compete with you, since It was a long time ago that I bowled in Leagues...
