I didn't think there was anything too offensively anti-Obama for Fox to support ~ Sooz

Fox rejects 'Jesus Hates Obama' ad
Published: Jan. 22, 2011 at 9:12 PM

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- The Fox network has refused to air a commercial for Jesus Hates Obama, a Web site that flogs anti-President Obama merchandise, during the Super Bowl.

Richard Belfrey, the conservative comedian who created the site, told the New York Daily News he got an e-mail from Ruth Leven, Fox's vice president for broadcast standards and practices, telling him the commercial "was not acceptable to air on Fox." He said his appeal also was turned down, the newspaper reported Saturday.

Belfrey insists the Web site and its slogan are a joke. In a disclaimer on the home page, he asks if he really believes Jesus hates Obama and answers "Of course not."

"Our products may be a joke, but so are the policies of this administration," he adds.

The site sells T-shirts for $19.95 each along with hats and mugs.

Belfrey said the $2.3 million cost of a 30-second spot during the Feb. 6 NFL championship game would have come from $3 million he has received from a private investor. The commercial shows an Obama bobblehead doll getting dunked in a fishbowl, and a smiling Jesus appearing in a "Jesus Hates Obama" T-shirt, all of this set to the "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

Last year, Fox aired a Focus on the Family anti-abortion commercial.

Methinks you'll see FOX progressively backing away from much of this inflammatory stuff in the wake of the shooting in Tucson.
Like most bullies, they're cowards when somebody pushes back.

Someone with good sense vetoed the ad.  Don't worry, it'll never happen again.
