I watched and listened to Eric Cantor on Meet the Press today and found him to be boring, bogus and a wind bag.  Can anyone help me to understand his politics.  He seemed to be saying the republicans do not have anything planned for improving the economy and creating new jobs.  Is he and his party hoisted by their own petard?   They won the house, but can't manage it because of  NO? NO? NO? NO?  Even their yes repeal vote now means no, no, no???

The Repugs have been totally outmanoeuvered on policy so all they can do is bugger things up.

I have yet to be impressed by this guy either.  He's like the majority of the Republicans in office now... nothing of substance at all.

Indeed.
They aren't even tap dancing in public washrooms anymore.
How boring.

alglenne, I see Eric Cantor as an empty shirt ~ he regularly proves himself to not be very bright ~ and as 'not bright' as Cantor is, he's considered one of the R 'young guns' ~ but you've hit on something important ~ the Rs have been so busy trying [and frequently succeeding] in stopping the Ds proposed bills and policies that they have not formulated any policies of their own other than returning to gwb-era policies ~ those of us with working brain cells recognize how disasterous those policies were then and how disasterous those policies would be if revived ~

Eric Cantor also endorsed the ' repeal amendment. '

Cantor's republicans canvassed the American people on the offer of repeal and replace.  They have repealed the health bill in the house, but has anyone heard of the 'replace' bill?  Cantor also claimed that the republicans were not going to support raising the debt ceiling unless it was linked to cuts, yet he could not specify what cuts they would make.  Is their intention to precipitate another recession in order to ensure that Obama is a one term president?

I think he just likes to hear himself emote in a theatrical fashion. I have wondered to myself if he is a drag artist ; Eric , Erica ? In fact I think I may have seen him perform once when I was in the fresh quarter in New Orleans. If not , the resemblance is remarkable !

Are you sure you're not confusing him Weeper of the House, John Boehner? Speaking of whom: where were Crybaby John's tears when Gabreille Giffords was shot?

I don't know how any person could be impressed with the leaders in the Republican party.

Wait, let me change that...

I don't know how any intelligent person could be impressed with the leaders in the Republican party.

Sid ...no , I know the weeper . He is from Ohio. Actually , he was very very constructive and helpful to the congress during the Gabby and others tragedy in Arizona. I commend him that. I don't think he is thrilled in the least with having to play the game with some of the insurgents in his party. That is a bit of a hassel! No wonder he likes his booze !!!

John, personally I don't know how any person with working brain cells could be impressed with the current leaders in the R party.

Indeed, Sooz. I won't criticize every Republican, but between these leaders and those like Bachmann I see nothing good coming from them.

I watched Bill Mahrer's show and he said Boehner was supposedly crying at the 50th Anniversary of JFK's inauguration- he didn't like the Kennedy's and he was a kid at that time- maybe that means that at one time he was normal-  I still think he's a wet brain drunk.
Mahrer said he's a walking ad for paxil.

Cantor in some ways reminds me of Jimmy Cagney- a short guy trying to sound tough- it might be too soon to know for sure but he could  be another example of the Peter Principle.

Bunker, I view today's R 'leadership' as a shining example of the Peter Principle in action ~
