What "loving" god would allow people to suffer so?  What "all knowing" god would have those it supposedly loves at each others throats?

I read the CNN RSS headline feeds and see nothing but killings, shootings, bombings, lies, smears, anger and hate.  I read threads here where people are in the throes of unspeakable suffering and I am forced to ask... What god is this that makes laws too complex for anyone to understand while professing it's "love" for humanity?

"God" is just another word for bullshit.  There is no "God".  We're on our own.

Sid, it's both good and healthy to vent ~ personally, I love being home ~ even in my current mess-state ~ but staying home by choice is VERY different than being forced to stay home via weather, illness, or whatever ~ btw, your impromptu song title sounds like a #1 hit on the country charts ~ Image

I know what you mean, Sid. People have tried to explain why god allows people to suffer but I've never heard a good answer.

Here's how I see it; If a god created the universe, then he created everything. That means he created things like pedophilia.

I love when she plays with her head. The video is great, only problem is my cats watched it with me and are now demanding a piano. What am i gonna do now?

LOL, bep ~ always something, huh? ~ Image ~ as a sorta off-topic aside since I'm not a cat ... my dad made me quit school violin lessons early in elementary school ~ I remember being both crushed and enormously relieved at the same time ~ not long after that, my mother bought a piano ~ I confess that Nora is a far more accomplished pianist than I ever was ~ Image

the God conundrum has puzzled philosophers for millenia.  the deists resolved the God problem by treating him as a "retired director"- one who set the action in motion, and now just sits back and watches, offering occasional guidance, without intervening.  some took this even further, and held that God was not all knowing or all powerful- that the universe had become so large, and so unruly that he could no longer manage it all on his own. 

others reduce the argument thusly: if God is all knowing and all powerful, he is a real bastard.  if not, what sense is there in worshipping him?

Maybe I'll revise my original title: I am angry with the concept of god. Also... I didn't say god was angry. By changing my title, I avoid acknowleding its existence.
