We covered a fair amount of ground over the weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed.

On Sunday, we talked about:

* Cracks in the Sherman Minton Bridge are a timely reminder: it's time to invest in infrastructure.

* Conservative bloggers thought they'd finally come across meaningful evidence of liberal bias at PBS. They failed rather spectacularly.

* Republican pollster Frank Luntz believes the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks “allows us to appreciate George Bush and Dick Cheney for keeping us safe.â€

We covered a fair amount of ground over the weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed.

On Sunday, we talked about:

* The political conditions in 1983 are very familiar. The political outcomes are not.

* Bill O'Reilly thinks JFK's tax policies bolster the Republican approach. He's wrong.

* Rick Perry is very conservative on almost everything. But the exception — immigration policy — may cost him dearly.

* If you're telling teleprompter jokes from a teleprompter, you're doing it wrong.

* Rick Perry hoped to use the Republican Party of Florida's “Presidency 5â€

We covered a fair amount of ground over the weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed.

On Sunday, we talked about:

* The more Americans are frustrated by Wall Street's excesses, the better it will be for the Democrats' 2012 strategy.

* Republicans were wrong about DADT repeal. How about some accountability?

* Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) is Congress' most moderate Republican. That's not saying much.

* The Obama administration's scrapping of the CLASS Act may have been mildly embarrassing, but it was also an example of good governance.

* How much does Rush Limbaugh hate President Obama? Enough to side with Ugandan terrorists and broadcast their propaganda.

And on Saturday, we talked about:

* A growing number of seasoned DC veterans believe our political system is struggling badly with “the basic functions of government.â€

We covered a fair amount of ground over the weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed

On Sunday, we talked about:

* By historical standards, the 2012 Republican presidential field is pretty awful. Why is that?

* About a year ago, former senator and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Danforth (R) said his party is “beyond redemptionâ€

* The closer one looks at the Democrats' super-committee offer, the worse it appears. It's more than just a mistake; it's also a wasted opportunity.

The "super committee" is a waste of time and resources. All it does is provide another platform for the boneheaded Repugnants to cripple the US.

On Sunday, we talked about:

* Joe Walsh and Herman Cain might be treated a lot differently if they were on the left instead of the right.

* It increasingly seems as if Republicans have forgotten the meaning of the word “anonymous.â€

IMO, if Mr. Cain actually believes he has a legitimate shot at being the GOP candidate he's too dumb to be president. They are simply using him to "prove" they aren't racist. He's nothing but a token.

I agree with that, oskar ~ I'm not sure Cain is really "dumb", but he sure is ignorant on pesky little things like the Constitution, foreign policy, law, etc ~ I also believe the GOP mindset when the Dems nominated Obama in 2008 was "if they're nominating a black guy, we'll nominate a woman" ~ and look what that produced!

We covered a fair amount of ground over the holiday weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed

On Sunday, we talked about:

* Corporate profits are reaching all-time highs. Incomes are reaching all-time lows. This just won't do.

* What has Newt Gingrich done for the 13 years since he left Congress? He's overseen an odd “business conglomerate.â€

On Sunday, we talked about:

* As Fox News changes Republican politics, are we now looking at a post-retail campaign model?

* Whether he likes it or not, Mitt Romney has had [url=http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal/2011_12/what_constitutes_a_career_in_p033887.php]a “careerâ€

We covered a fair amount of ground over the weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed.

On Sunday, we talked about:

* Mitt Romney's popularity among his own constituents during his only time in public office was pretty awful. That should matter a lot in the presidential race.

* Forcing accused terrorists into military tribunals would mean abandoning an effective justice system for a dubious one.

* This probably isn't the best time to discuss Romney's “frugalâ€

We covered a fair amount of ground over the weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed.

On Sunday, we talked about:

* Given the sledgehammer Newt Gingrich wants to take to the federal judicial system, maybe he shouldn't call President Obama a radical.

* The Senate struck a bipartisan compromise on the payroll tax break. The House doesn't care.

* On Iraq, John McCain believes President Obama deserves “scorn and disdain.â€

We covered a fair amount of ground over the holiday weekend. Here's a quick overview of what you may have missed.

On Monday, we talked about:

* The right is still desperate to blame government regulations for the 2008 crash. They're still wrong.

* At least in the traditional sense, [url=http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal/2011_12/the_conservative_in_2012034322.php]there's nothing “conservativeâ€
