The following link is for the Atlantic Magazine's special series on WWII. A collection of 900 photos grouped in 20 parts, starting with "Before the War" and concluding with "After the War".

I highly recommend them.


Warning: Some of the pictures are disturbing [in particular "The Holocaust" section], as you should expect when viewing the realities of war.

If you find scenes of war difficult to view, check out the section titled "The American Home Front in Color". It's great pictures of what people were doing here to help the war effort.
