I don't believe prisoners should be coddled or enjoy any "luxuries" during their incarcerations ~ prison sentences are intended to be punishment, not

State public prisons aren't much better...but I'll spare you all the rant...

I'm of the belief that if the state exercises its mandate to incarcerate citizens who have broken the law, then the state is responsible for the care of those they've incarcerated. Privatized prisons should be considered "cruel and unusual punishment".

Why should all private prisons, and only private prisons, be automatically considered "cruel and unusual punishment?"

Personally, I don't view private prisons and public prisons as being particularly separate in their practices...both are capable of cruelty, both often deprive inmates of proper uptodate medical care, and both strive for profit....at the high cost of human misery.   And no, I do not believe that everyone incarcerated belongs in prison...
