This happened here during our recent wind storm. Excellent landing by this pilot! Strange to watch. We had winds up to 145kph/90mph.

The landing in the clip is a thing of beauty! ~ I was once on a flight to Phoenix that landed during a high-wind dust storm ~ I can say in all honestly that IT WAS NOT FUN!!!!!

that is called "crabbing". it is standard procedure for light aircraft, but i have never seen it done on a jet.
the idea is to hold a straight line until just before touchdown, then straighten out.
and yes, this guy did it perfectly. not easy with a big plane.

I know the B52 is designed to handle that kind of wind. The landing gear actually steers 20° each way.
