This happened here during our recent wind storm. Excellent landing by this pilot! Strange to watch. We had winds up to 145kph/90mph.

I saw this on CBC last night. I'm surprised he actually made that landing.

Pilots have told me that any landing you walk away from is a good landing.

that is called "crabbing". it is standard procedure for light aircraft, but i have never seen it done on a jet.
the idea is to hold a straight line until just before touchdown, then straighten out.
and yes, this guy did it perfectly. not easy with a big plane.

I know the B52 is designed to handle that kind of wind. The landing gear actually steers 20° each way.
