This is sad, but the main reason I posted this is the title of the article. I've highlighted the part that threw me for a loop vis-a-vis the title. lol

Foreign affairs officials are investigating reports that two Calgary senior citizens drowned while vacationing off Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

The bodies have been recovered.

Calgary police say they were alerted to the incident when they were asked t

"We got the call saying that there was a couple missing, presumed drowned, and there was a possibility there was a next-of- kin living here in Calgary," he said.

"The plea was to see if we could locate any next of kin here in town. To my knowledge, at this stage, I don't have any knowledge to indicate we found any next of kin."

The incident occurred in the port city of Progreso, on the Yucatan Peninsula. The victims are believed to be 72 years old and 55 years oldImageImage, Brach reported.

Those waters can be dangerous.  My daughter and I were playing in the near surf there one time.  We never went above our knees and the waves weren't that big.  All of a sudden there was no bottom and we were fifty feet from shore.  Fortunately Laura could swim and I kept calling at her to ride the waves.  We got back okay.  Ground never felt so good.  I was scared seedless.  My daughter, of course, couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about.
