Nevada judge rewrites ‘misleading' personhood ballot initiative

A Nevada state judge on Monday rewrote a fetal personhood ballot measure after ruling it was misleading because the measure did not explain the full extent it would have on Nevada law.

The ballot measure, proposed by the Nevada Prolife Coalition, seeks to add an amendment to Nevada's constitution that would prohibit the intentional taking of prenatal life “at all stages of biological development before birth.â€

Absolutely! Make the authors of the amendment defend it in the light of all of its implications. This is good.

The Christian Taliban scares me more than the Islamic one.

Wonder how many of the members of the Nevada Prolife Coalition have already broken those laws they want to pass?

The sad thing is, even with the judges add-on, there will still be a heck of a whack of people who vote for it. 

These anti-abortion types are going about it entirely the wrong way.  We all know that they don't consider women to be "all the way people" who, like dogs and cats, are lovable and become part of the family, but certainly shouldn't have all the rights of a real person.  That's why they always go after women in their crusades.  The trouble is that, at best, they could only drive abortion underground or some men may lose their pet females. 

Instead of attacking women, what they should do is go after the other side.  Enshrine it in the Constitution that all male babies must have a vasectomy at birth which can only be reversed when he and his (legally approved, of course) wife both agree that they want a baby and, even then, only for such time as it takes to impregnate her.  Problem solved.  No more abortions. After all Judaism and, I believe, a few other religions have been whacking baby peepees for eons with no great ill-effects.  What would be the harm in one other little snip?

This is a second, different suit than the one in the op ~ and this is a from a federal [vs state in the op] judge ~ maybe most importantly, this is a MUCH stronger decision ~ which makes me VERY happy ~ Sooz

Judge Wilson needs to look out for Newt.
