At public schools across the U.S., Christian youth groups gather to pray in a way that is legal but may test legal boundaries, reports Katherine Stewart from a school in Tennessee.

CLEVELAND, TENN.: At 7 a.m., as the sun crowns the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, 10 huddles of eight students each have gathered around the flagpole at the 1,200-student Cleveland High School (“Home of the Blue Raiders!â€

I draw the line at the school making announcements about these events, and inviting the guy IN to the school to give his special speech.

But gathering outside before school starts? To me, no biggie-as long as they aren't trying to intimidate other kids who just walk by.

I agree. Much better than the morning Walmart  circle jerks pep rallies meetings in the aisles.  Image Don't they have a meeting room somewhere?

Wait until Muslims or Mormons stage the same type of event at a Tennessee school.
Watch the proverbial hit the fan.

By the sound of the title, I was thinking they were going to do some big shindig with Mr. Santa Claus at the north POLE.

Good place for them.

I figured a meeting at the chrome-plated pole in a dimly-lit establishment with mirrored ceilings certainly would be a nice touch and the kids would enjoy it as long as they are of legal age.

Does the school have any expenses they must pay when the kids do this?  If so, it is unconstitutional because taxpayers pay for the school and the expenses.

Seems to me ring around the flagpole isn't very private and most likely is disruptive.  So any group of students expressing any views have this same right?  Sure they do.  Image
