The consensus seems to be the exact opposite.
The point is that just because Assad is a bad guy doesn't mean we should automatically blame him for everything bad that's going on in Syria.
Is it anywhere near safe for the Red Cross to go into Syria? I seriously doubt it if Doctors Without Borders decided to leave. That was a first, to my knowledge.
moreover the fact of whether Assad is a bad guy or not doesn't excuse going on there and killing more Syrians. Bush was a bad guy, but it would not have excused Canada from bombing DC.
