Not depressed, but sad that I can't be with my kids and grands. I did FaceTime with one set yesterday and it was fun! They told me all about their lunch with Auntie Dawn and family, Abigail put on her new tiara and danced. It was almost like being there. This morning I got a video of them thanking us for their presents.
Sometime today I will Skype with the other daugher and family.
I have cornbread dressing in the oven, a already-roasted chicken from the grocery store and will make some yams and corn to go with them for a "lupper" (lunch-supper).
It's unfortunate that none of your friends invited you to their place for lunch or something. Maybe you could invite one or two of them over or take them out, or volunteer at a shelter. Just being with someone makes it better. Helping others would give you a lift.
When hubby's family was all still here, they would have everyone over (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas) AND they would invite a few other people who live far away from extended family. One couple from Chile, another from the UK...different ones at different times. It was nice. I miss them being here too. His Aunt goes to BC where her son now lives and her daughter and family fly in from Melbourne for Christmas. So, it's just the two of us....and the family cat.
