‘World Net Daily’ Birther Encourages Violent Revolt Against Federal Government

Since 2008, many conservatives have responded to the Presidency of Barack Obama by calling for violent revolt against the U.S. government. Perhaps no other phrase defines such calls as the infamous threats of “second amendment remedies” from Sharron Angle and Sarah Palin. Now that President Obama has won a second term to occupy the White House, some conservatives are once again trumpeting a call to arms.

Despite the multiple mass shootings that have been dominating the news for months, World Net Daily writer and Judicial Watch Founder Larry Klayman called for a violent uprising to ouster the President in his column titled ‘Revolution!’. Klayman, a former Justice Department official, attempts to use the Founding Fathers as examples of why it’s time to revolt. Chief among the Founders mentioned is John Adams, the man who represented and successfully defended the British soldiers who fired on and subsequently killed colonial citizens during what is now known as the Boston Massacre. After the trial, in which the soldiers were acquitted, King George III ordered that all felonies be tried in London from then on. Klayman’s history lesson is correct, but his reasoning for using it is wrong: Klayman claims that since the Founders cited this particular case as one of the reasons to start the Revolutionary War, the American people today should therefore overthrow the government because the judicial system has supposedly refused to hear cases arguing that President Obama is a secret foreigner who should be disqualified from being President. In other words, the courts are rejecting Birther claims and Klayman is throwing a temper tantrum about it.

World Net Daily has attracted all kinds of crazy conservatives to write columns on their website, but Klayman takes the top prize for his demonstration of stupidity and insanity, which may only rival fellow WND column writer Rick Santorum’s. Klayman is not just a Birther – which, by now, has become nothing but a punchline in American society – he is also openly calling for a violent revolution that would completely overshadow all of the mass school shootings in our nation’s history: The blood spilled by such an event would be devastating.

Calling for such an event could also be considered treason. Inciting violence against one’s own government is certainly an unpatriotic act, especially when you’re only doing it because you hate the black man in the White House. It also makes it perfectly clear how far to the right the Republican Party has shifted over the years. If a Democrat or left-wing writer wrote this column, conservatives across the country would be screaming and demanding that person be arrested for treason.

Of course, all of this comes down to sour grapes. In July 2012, a Florida judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by Klayman on behalf of a Florida man claiming that President Obama should be taken off the ballot because he — according to nuts — isn’t a natural citizen. Apparently, not only is Klayman sore over losing, conservatives in general seem to dismiss Hawaii as a “real” state.

For those of you conservatives who aren’t in the habit of learning: Hawaii became the 50th state in the Union in 1959, during the Eisenhower administration. Two years later in 1961, Barack Obama was born in the state to an American mother and a Kenyan father. Being born on American soil to an American parent makes Barack Obama a naturalized citizen. Hawaiian newspapers announced the birth. There is no controversy here. The facts are indisputable. The only people still denying the facts are racists who can’t handle an African-American person being in the White House.

Inciting violence against your country just because the judicial system disagrees with your frivolous lawsuit makes you look like a toddler who is whining about not getting a desired present at the toy store, except that, in this comparison, the toddler isn’t suggesting killing people in order to get his toy. Klayman, however, is doing exactly that … and in this atmosphere of mass shootings and increased gun violence, it’s simply irresponsible and dangerous.

Yeah, this guy has taken his extremism to its logical conclusion. He's a dangerous nut. In a way, it's too bad so many people get to know about him.
