Gay couple says bigots forced them to close small-town eatery
6 hrs ago

And you thought Canadians were so polite. A gay couple in Manitoba say they've made the heartbreaking decision to close their small-town restaurant because they've grown tired of facing constant harassment. Chef Dave Claringbould and his partner opened Pots N Hands just four months ago in the small town of Morris, but will close their doors next week. The town's mayor blamed the tension on a minority of residents who "couldn't keep their opinions to themselves." Claringbould says they have no choice but to leave: "We were asked if someone was going to catch something off the plate they were served."

How sad for these men. I find that bigotry seems to be more rampant, or at least more overt, in small towns anywhere in N. America.

Check this out: http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/ ... 37231.html

With a population of only 1,700 it shouldn't be a problem to publish the names of the bigots in the local paper.
