This man may have been shot and even killed by another parent. I hope that they also siezed his gun when they revoked his license.

Irate father disarmed by spectator, arrested after pulling gun on Moody little league coach

MOODY, Alabama -- A man became irate with a coach during a Saturday opening day game at Moody's ballpark, pulling a .45 handgun on the coach after he was told to sit down in the bleachers during his son's game.

A spectator disarmed the man, Charles Moshier, and a city employee held Moshier until police arrived, said Moody Police Chief Thomas Hunt.

The incident happened during a Pee-Wee baseball game among seven and eight-year-olds, Hunt said.

"It could have easily turned into something worse," Hunt said.

Moshier has been charged with menacing, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hunt said he was not sure of Moshier's age but said Moshier lived in unincorporated St. Clair County with a Moody mailing address.

Moody City Council member Ricky Parker said he was told by the sheriff's office that Moshier had a pistol permit that is now being revoked.

"We need to let him know he's not allowed at any of our parks where our kids are," Parker said to Moody Mayor Joe Lee before tonight's council meeting.

Lee said he was grateful fans stopped the situation before it escalated.

"The fans took care of it," Lee said. "It's good it went the way it did."
