I read about this a while back. MS is such a diverse disease, it all depends on which type he has. Some people can have episodes and then a long period where they have no symptoms, it is called relapsing-remitting. They are still learning about MS and it's not always a death sentence nor does it always cripple people. I'm happy they let him play after the diagnosis and I"m thrilled at how well he performed. I wish him well.

My bff has MS and plays soccer- she has some setbacks from time to time but playing boosts her confidence and her attitude makes a lot of difference for some of the symptoms.

My friend Cindy was diagnosed with MS a number of years ago ~ her doc didn't want to put her on meds because [at least at that time] if you went on meds, you stayed on meds ~ her symptoms were mild enough that they could be controlled by diet and rest ~ when she had BIG back surgery a couple of years ago, her orthopedic surgeon suggested she get tested again for MS ~ he told her that MS symptoms sometimes mirror the back symptoms he just corrected ~ she hasn't been retested yet because she has not experienced any symptoms since the back surgery ~ we're keeping our fingers crossed ~

Glad your friend is doing well, queenie ~ it's an awful affliction ~

I echo roseanne's well wishes for this young goalie ~
