Tho it's sometimes tough to do, I usually give credit when credit is due ~ and tho I am NOT a fan of Kim Kardashian [or any Kardshian] or Kanye West [who is a native Chicagoan], I just read something that really does impress me ~

Apparently Kim's baby shower was this weekend ~ just 100+ of her nearest-and-dearest friends ~ in lieu of gifts, Kim/Kanye requested contributions to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, which is amongst the very best children's hospitals in the country ~ Childrens' Memorial Hospital was renamed Lurie Children's Hospital when the Lurie Foundation contributed MEGA $$$ a few years ago to build the new hospital as part of the Northwestern Memorial Hospital complex ~ to me, that's an amazingly good-hearted gesture ~

More than a gesture, it was an act of kindness and selflessness.

Knowing they don't need the gifts it was easy for them to do, but a shame it isn't done more often.
