You have to hand it to Aussie artist Jodi Rose: She knows how to marry a bridge. Rose has been traveling the world, making artwork using sound recordings of the vibrations of bridges cables. Apparently the 600-year-old Pont du Diable over the Tech river in France had a little something special to offer, because she decided to "marry" it — in a ceremony complete with wedding dress, vows, and the exchange of rings. "While I respect those whose romantic and sexual feelings are oriented towards objects, mine is a symbolic affair, a pagan/animist view of the spiritual vibration in everything," Rose wrote on her website. Oh great. I wonder if there's a woman somewhere willing to marry a ski jump, lending undeniable credence to the slippery slope argument.

Speaking of bridges, they named this one after my nephew, Todd.

I'm kind of partial to this cute little suspension bridge over Lynn Canyon. It's got a little sway about it's middle that's guaranteed to give a thrill. Only good for weekend flings, though. Wouldn't want to marry it.
