Halliburton has agreed to plead guilty to destroying evidence relating to the oil spill in Gulf Of Mexico in 2010.

The company has also agreed to pay the maximum fine, US officials have said.

The spill occurred at BP's Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico and was the worst in US history. A blast at the Deepwater Horizon oil rig killed 11 workers.

BP had accused Halliburton, its contractor, of destroying the evidence and asked it to pay for all costs and damages that arose from the oil spill.

I'm glad Halliburton is getting nailed, but I'm convinced BP played a role too ~ I hate to see it not face any consequences [other than my personal boycott of BP gas stations here ~ :b ] ~

I am sure the Republicans will make sure whatever fine they have to pay will be given back in tax cuts.

Does this mean Halliburton will pay any wrongful death lawsuits that have occurred as a result of this tragedy?
