This is TRUE ~ so tell me ... with this kind of brain power defining "news", why is it a surprise that so many people are <insert your own descriptor here>? ~ :g ~ Sooz

Define bimbo.

I'm not sure she qualifies as being a bimbo since: 1) she is just an anchor and not the investigative reporter; and 2) there was nothing on the site to indicate it was a parody.

If any of us had, by chance, stumbled on the site, would we have known it was just a parody??

Media Matters points out that the National Report removed a disclaimer it once posted on its site acknowledging that the material contained within was parody.

Right.
Responsible journalism consists of reporting the first thing that somebody else claims without checking it out.

SciFi, there is a skill called "common sense" ~ if you read something totally ridiculous, do you just accept it as fact or do you look for further info/corroboration?

Fact checking at Fox News - A Primer

"Does it make Obama look bad?"
Check!

"Does it re-enforce the 'Obama's a Muslim' theme?"
Check!

"On the air with it! It's true!"
(Christmas bonus check from Murdoch is in the mail)

It wasn't that ridiculous. It was a perfectly credible story.

Also, Fox and Friends isn't an actual news program, is it? Isn't it a talk show where the hosts offer their opinions on matters, a la The View, right?

Irrelevant, IMO.
If something is reported as being factual by a news professional, should it not be factual?

What I have found to be true in this area of the country is that those who want to believe everything Fox News says will do so and truth hasn't much to do with it.

I've got this original document from August 1961 from the Kenyan communist party I want you to take a look at, but it's written in Arabic and signed with Onyango or something like it.
