Have you ever heard of this? Yikes! As much as I don't understand extreme tattooing, this is really way beyond my comprehension. Skin is cut or burned to create scars in patterns, sometimes huge chunks of skin are cut out to create a larger scar.

Here is a photobucket gallery. The most sickening ones are the child and the photo of chunks of skin. WHO WOULD DO THAT TO A CHILD?

That's an ancient technique of body modification. Heck-tattoos started out as just cuts in the skin that had ash or some other substance rubbed in.

Does seem like an interesting-if painful-way someone could cover a non-artistic scar.

Gave me the creeps. I would stick with the non-artistic scar.

It's a practice nearly as old as mankind.

I don't care how long they practice. It's like eating dulse, they'll never get it to the point where I will indulge.

I"m not sure it's any worse than what parents put their daughters through to perform in child pagents. I've heard of plastic surgery and botox for kids--what's a couple of knives between parents?

It's all gross.
