Growing up we had a garden in the backyard. We grew tons of green beans and tomatoes. I actually love ham, green beans and boiled potatoes NOW!!!! I hated them THEN due to the frequency of the dinner and the fact I have to pick and clean the beans. We canned tomatoes from the garden and peaches we bought at the Market House. The best thing from the backyard was the apple tree. The apples were too tart to eat off the tree, but we made great applesauce, apple dumplings and apple pies from them. That has ruined me for commercial apple products. I swear I can taste the can in store-bought apple pies.

I love carrots! We have them with ginger meatballs or sweet and sour chicken. Carrots, potatoes and corn are all the veggies hubby will eat....unless disguised in a chicken pot pie or something. Then it's only green beans. My mom would puree broccoli and cauliflower, hiding them in spaghetti sauce or chili so my dad had a better diet. :lol I don't think he ever knew.

I love all beans, peas (blackeyed, yummm!) broccoli, cauliflower, corn, squash, cucumbers, radishes, raw baby spinach, tomatoes, red potatoes and raw cabbage. Then, of course, all of the lettuces.

Can't abide turnip greens, collard greens, beets or brussle sprouts. :x
