Bah humbug! Ooops, wrong holiday. lol

Stuff your faces for me please. The holiday I miss the most with my family. Hubby and I were talking about how we'd like to go down for Thanksgiving just once. I would love one more time to do all the cooking and baking for the gang, and I'd love for him to experience it just once.

We don't have anything equivalent to a Thanksgiving here. But, then, a lot of my ancestors weren't all that happy to be here in the first place.

But I suppose we could celebrate Party Day here as an equivalent.

After the convicts were unloaded from the ships at Sydney Cove so was the rum. There were around 600 male convicts and 200 female convicts.

A no-holds-barred party of incredible proportions broke out in which as one onlooker put it: "there were such scenes of unmitigated debauchery that one would almost think they were at the gates of hell".

It took two days for the troopers to regain order (partly because a lot of them had joined in).

Well, they had been on the boats a long time .......

Thanks Laffin. When I lived in Boston it was on every radio station at noon every Thanksgiving. Also, for a few years I lived near Arlo. He owned a bar named Woody's (ya really) in Washington MA and we went there several times.Always a surprise -Carly Simon was there in the audience a few times, Arlo would do a set unannounced.
