LOL, this is a funny twitter exchange at the link. AirCanada decided, in all it's "wisdom" that travel vouchers can only be transferred to someone with the same last name. Ok. What about the many, many women in Canada who keep their surname? What about the women of other cultures who never take their husbands surname? Could you look someone up in the phone book with your same name and give it to them.....even if they aren't related? What an archaic rule! Methinks AirCanada will be eating their words soon.
Air Canada same surname policy riles fliers on TwitterCalgary author Chris Turner discovered an Air Canada policy Dec. 30 that he found quite baffling: he couldn't transfer a flight voucher to his wife because she has a different surname from him.
