Working until noon, then going out for a late lunch. Have a bottle of sparkling wine given to us by a resident that we will crack open this evening. May stay up to see the New Year in.......or not. lol When you get to be old farts, it's harder. Especially if you are at home in your jammies, snuggled comfortably on the sofa, nice and warm. :D We'll see.

I have NOT been a fan of NYE for many, many years ~ too many people feel compelled to "have a good time" and pretend that they are, while being obnoxious in every way imaginable ~ too many sloppy drunks ~ there's a group of people I'm friends with here in my building ~ and for the past couple of years, we've done a "pot luck" type party ~ it's perfect: the only "driving" is pushing an elevator button ~ but, for some reason, I'm feeling somewhat anti-social these days ~ so I'm not sure I'll join them this year ~ we'll see ~

The one sure thing for me is that I'm more than ready to be beyond 2013 ~ this has been a very tough year on a lot of levels ~ and I'm anxious for it to be over ~ tomorrow is a new day ~

Jeff's sister and brother-in-law arrived yesterday and we are going to Caesar's Gala tonight at Caesar's casino. I am sure it has food and dancing. I don't plan on gala-ing much and Jeff and his brother-in-law are early to bedders. We will see how it goes.

Jason and maybe business partner Zach and neighbor/old friend Ollie are coming for traditional Pennsylvania Dutch New Year's Dinner of Sauerkraut, pork and mashed potatoes. It's supposed to be good luck. Jason goes back to Toronto on 1/2/14. I have to hand in my grades then, too.

Awww ((((((sooz))))). That is exactly why you should go! Once there, you may find that it lift's your spirits. If not, you can always scoot out early, but at least you will have tried. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S!!!!!!

Hope your doggie is better, laff.

The Caesar's gala was lovely. The room looked beautiful. Nice band. They served surf and turf. Hubby, his sister and brother-in-law seemed to love it!!! Dancing and party hats and noise makers!!!!

I got three 8s so a good time was had by all.

I was in bed before 8pm. Had to be up at 3am and at work by 4:30. I haven't done anything for NYE since 1995. Too many aamateurs out here in the Vegas Valley. However, from reports I've seen, there were only 4 dui's handed out. Anyone that drove while intoxicated was more than just a fool when they could get a free ride home and their car dropped off.

Hope everyone has a blessed and Happy New Year!
