Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers dead at 74
By Scott Kaufman
Friday, January 3, 2014 21:24 EST

According to his family, Phil Everly, who comprised half of the influential early rock band the Everly Brothers, died of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

His wife, Patti Everly, told the Los Angeles Times that the family is “absolutely heartbroken,” but that he had “fought long and hard.”

The Everly Brothers were one of the first 10 acts inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. In 1997, the were awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. They are also one of the few groups to have been elected into both the Rock and Roll and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

They had nearly three dozens hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, including “Wake Up Little Susie,” “Bye Bye Love,” “When Will I Be Loved” and “All I Have to Do Is Dream.”

Watch video of the Everly Brothers performing some of their classic hits below. [Sooz says video accessible at end link]

That's fine but there's no need to belittle them.

i was just trying to say i don't care about team USA (i meant to say "lost", not "won"), so there is no need for you to apologize to me. i was also trying to say that i care more about the game than the team- thus they "i hope it was a good game" comment. if i did it poorly and pissed you off, i apologize- but i was not trying to belittle you or anyone else.

i deleted both posts. i would appreciate it if you would PLEASE not use my words against me and Phil Everly.

tyia.
