The Grammys are almost always noted for taking strong socially progressive positions ~ last night was no exception, and I honestly don't know how it will ever be "one-upped" ~ this was FANTASTIC!!! ~ :st :st :st ~ Sooz

Watch 33 Gay And Straight Couples Get Married On The Grammys Without Hurting Anyone Else's Marriage
Adam Mordecai

At the Grammys, they had the brilliant idea of showing how the sanctity of marriage works by marrying straight and gay couples from across the spectrum. Queen Latifah had the honor of presiding over the ceremony, right smack dab in the middle of Macklemore's "Same Love." It's kind of amazing. The nuptials start at 4:22.

That is fantastic!

Is it just me or did Madonna look strange......like she was out of it or something? Has she had some bad plastic surgery maybe?

Madonna's looked like that for a while. I think it is extreme dieting and plastic surgery.

Being in her mid 50s might have something to do with it.

Past her bed time?

Nah!!! I went to see her in 2012. She made us wait 2 hours before she came on stage. She's no 10PM bedtime girl.

She is very thin and her legs are bruised from her rigorous dance routines. I think there is facework in there. I like her. She can still sing and dance.

If she made me wait two hours, it would be past my bed time.

I've never been a fan. I do think it's more than that. She recently posted a pic of her 12 yo son holding a liquor bottle and later called him a "ni**er" as a "term of endearment" according to her. I fear for her sanity and/or sobriety.

Don't.
She's one of the best promoters ever. Thing is, Madonna promotes Madonna and she's damn good at it.
IMO, she's absolutely brilliant... in the IQ sense.

I think she's both sane and sober. She got positively hissy when she thought people were smoking in Convention Hall.

I think she's a total bitch and I wouldn't search her out as a friend, but that's an entirely different subject.

I don't think she's racist. Rocco is her white son with Guy Richie. She adopted two black kids from Malawi and funds a Girls' school there. Black guys say my ni))a to each other a lot. I generally stay away from the subject, but I definitely think the word carries too much power. I think Lenny Bruce had it right.

She's an aging woman in a young woman's game. I like her music. Can't say the same about many of today's artists.

I didn't see that part, which would have been cool. But I watched the first two hours of the 3-hour show, and I hated it.

Where were all the new performers? It started out with Beyonce, which was nice, but then went down hill from there. The show filled up its time with unknown new artists (who was heck was that teenage boy? He was awful), or dinosaur acts like the Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

Seeing Pink was nice. But where was Lady Gaga? Where were all the countless popular artists that I'm listening to on the radio right now?

The show was awful. It was b-o-r-i-n-g. At 10 pm I turned it off and went to sleep.

Two of my friends who are in their 20s told me they were terribly disappointed in the show. They didn't know who all those "old people" were. They had been hoping to see a 3-hour show of their favorite singers of today.

ummmm, there are a lot of people over 30 (or 40 or 50 or 60) who watch the show too. A good mix of new and old should be on the line-up.

Typical self-involved young people, thinking that everything should be just about them. :hmm :whatever

You mean the ones who interest the sponsors because they are the consumers

Referring to the older ones. They tend to have more money to spend. Hence, they win the advert dollars.

Actually I've read that although they may have more money to spend, the younger one's spend the most. Us oldies hang on to out $$$. ;)

They want the 18-49 demographic. They don't care about us.

I have Gaga tix and I'm a fan, but she wasn't nominated for anything so I don't think she'd perform. I actually hate Drunk in Love and Beyoncé's hair, good Lord. Katy Perry is on the radio all the time and truthfully the girl can't sing a note, but we were entertained with her getting burned at the stake Autotune queen Taylor Swift was at the piano flipping her hair.

I like the dinosaurs. Metallica reminded me that musicians used to be musicians and not just autotune and electronic editing. Carole King was one of my favorites and Tapestry is probably my all time favorite albums. The Beatles changed the world. Daft Punk (even though I like them) won't.

Besides Gaga, who did you want to see that you didn't????
