1. My aching hip forced me out of my warm bed this morning.
2. Usually it's my bladder.
3. Why does wife insist on having bedroom window open a crack in winter?
4 Why is bedroom floor so damn cold?
5. Where are my socks?
6. goddammit!
7. Why does MY bathroom have to be the one 75 steps from the bedroom down the hall through the living room and down a flight of stairs in the dark?
7.5 Sudden light hurts my eyes after they're been closed all night.\\
8. Newspaper not delivered inside the house, no, I must walk to end of driveway and back in pajamas no matter how many degrees below zero.
9. Not enough time before work to read newspaper over leisurely breakfast lovingly prepared by somebody else (currently still asleep in warm bed).
10. When is it MY turn to retire and sleep in? huh? huh? Tell me that!

Ah!!!! That's sweet gramps.

If it makes you feel any better my tooth woke me up around 4AM. Course the cat wanted fed since I was up anyway.

I NEVER make Jeff a leisurely breakfast, and I am always asleep in the warm bed when he leaves in the morning. I think he takes his synthroid and then eats oatmeal (almost as disgusting as Cream of Wheat).

You poor guys!!!!

I woke-up at 5:45 this morning having slept peaceably through the whole night. Realized I didn't have any meetings this morning so I rolled over and went back to sleep for an hour. Got up to a bright, sunshiny morning. Made some porridge for breakfast (I love the stuff along with cream of wheat and my all time favorite, Red River Cereal) and played on the computer for a bit. Then I got showered and dressed and went out to my car for a leisurely trip to the office - with a stop at Parm's for coffee, of course. Found the car windows were covered with dew and I had to open the trunk, get a towel out and wipe them. Life is tough!

Poor Gramps!

For what it's worth, I grabbed a little pack of LED nightlights a while ago and placed them so my trips to our ONLY bathroom can be navigated without having to turn on any blinding lights. It really does help!

They swivel!

Can't help you with the open window, but I bet it helps make the floor cold.

A couple of suggestions:

After years of bad sleeps (night sweats or bladder or both), I've learned to take it in stride. The worst days usually followed my morning frustration about sleeplessness. Now I don't even think about it and take it instride.

Keep your socks right by the bed on the nightstand or other table where you can just grab them.

Sit down to pee at night. Then you don't need the lights! ;) Or use the closer bathroom. What's one pee gonna hurt in her bathroom?

Retirement? What's that?

Well, It was supposed to be "10 things that annoyed me before breakfast", but I thought of another one, and I was lazy.
