Anchorage police confirm Palin family involved in heated Saturday night brawl

The Palin family was reportedly involved in a messy fistfight on Saturday night that involved at least 20 people in Anchorage, Alaska at an event sponsored by the annual Iron Dog snowmobile race.

Details are still sketchy, but Wonkette.com reported Thursday morning that a spokesperson for the Anchorage Police Department confirmed that members of the Palin family were involved in a public fight in Anchorage on Saturday night, but that no arrests were made because no one pressed charges.

“Well, look who is doing some journamalism,” quipped Wonkette editor and owner Rebecca Schoenkopf, “it is us, yr Wonkette.”

“Anita in the Anchorage Police Department’s communications office is sitting at her desk at 7:15 a.m. on a Thursday, so probs they are waiting for a whole mess of calls from Jake Tapper or whatever,” Schoenkopf continued, “and Anita confirms that a huge bloody mess of a brawl between multiple subjects took place Saturday night, and that the Palins were ‘present.’”

Local blogger Jessie Griffin at the Immoral Minority wrote on Wednesday, “According to the grapevine Track had some altercation with a person who may or may not have once dated one of the Palin girls. That led to some pushing and shoving, which escalated somehow to the family being asked to leave the premises.”

“However before that could happen a certain former abstinence spokesperson unleashed a flurry of blows at some as of yet identified individual before being pulled off by by another partygoer, after which Todd apparently puffed up his chest and made some threatening remarks. (The “C’ word may have been uttered at one point,)” said the blog.
Alaskan political blogger Amanda Coyne said she was able to piece together a version of events from sources who witnessed the out-of-control brawl.

“There’s some sort of unofficial birthday/Iron Dog-type/snowmachine party in Anchorage. A nice, mellow party, until the Palins show up,” Coyne wrote. “There’s beer, of course, and maybe other things. Which is all fine, but just about the time when some people might have had one too many, a Track Palin stumbles out of a stretch Hummer, and immediately spots an ex-boyfriend of Willow’s. Track isn’t happy with this guy, the story goes. There’s words, and more.”

“The owner of the house gets involved, and he probably wished he hadn’t,” Coyne continued. “At this point, he’s up against nearly the whole Palin tribe: Palin women screaming. Palin men thumping their chests. Word is that Bristol has a particularly strong right hook, which she employed repeatedly, and it’s something to hear when Sarah screams, ‘Don’t you know who I am!’ And it was particularly wonderful when someone in the crowd screamed back, ‘This isn’t some damned Hillbilly reality show!’”

“No, it’s what happens when the former First Family of Alaska comes knocking. As people were leaving in a cab, Track was seen on the street, shirtless, flipping people off, with Sarah right behind him, and Todd somewhere in the foreground, tending to his bloody nose,” she concluded.

It’s difficult to say how much of this is true, based as it is on what witnesses claim to have seen and heard.

In an update posted Thursday, Griffin said she spoke to homeowner Chris Olds, who confirmed that the melee took place in his residence and that he was repeatedly struck by Bristol Palin.

Anchorage Police confirmed to Griffin that at least 20 people were involved in the fight, but reports differ as to who started the brawl and why.

Eyewitness loses job after going on TV to say Palin family brawl was like ‘Jerry Springer’
By David Ferguson
Friday, September 12, 2014 15:52 EDT

A witness to the Saturday night brawl in Anchorage, Alaska that reportedly involved the family of former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was fired on Friday for talking to ABC’s Good Morning America about what he saw.

Eric Thompson worked for McKenna Bros. Paving Company, the organization that held the party on Saturday, which was a birthday party for twins Matt and Marc McKenna, owners of the paving company.

Thompson appeared on Good Morning America on Friday after speaking to Alaskan political blogger Amanda Coyne.

Thompson said the party was held at the house of McKenna Bros. office manager Korey Klingenmeyer. Most of the party, he said, took place outside. A live band played, and Marc, an Iron Dog Snowmobile Race competitor, welcomed several past winners to the party, one of whom is Todd Palin.

Drinks were consumed, then a series of confrontations erupted involving Bristol and Track Palin and an ex-boyfriend of Bristol’s. Klingenmeyer attempted to stop Bristol, but the former abstinence spokesperson and teen mom “stood straight up, brought her arm back and cold-cocked him right in the face,” Thompson reported.

“It was a really nice, mellow party” before the Palins arrived, Thompson said. “Then it turned into the Jerry Springer show.”

“I heard Sarah Palin scream out, ‘You know who we are, don’t you?’” he told ABC.

Mediaite reported that a producer from Entertainment Tonight was one of the first to discover that Thompson had lost his job, specifically for speaking to ABC.

I know you've been waiting for details on the Palin brawl
by Old Redneck

Admit it -- your attempt to ignore the Palin brawl was but a facade -- you're just DYING to know the juicy details of the Thrilla in Wasilla (acutally, it was in Anchorage).

So -- here it is:
-- 5-yr-old Tripp sleeping soundly in the Hummer limo while his demure, born-again-virgin mother pounds a guy in the face with her right hook;
-- Palin son Track telling women at a party he'd "like to bend you over right here" until their husbands decided to intervene and thump on him;
-- Sarah all the while screeching "Do you know who we are?!?!?!?!?"

Quote:
“Alcohol may have been a factor,” said the police report filed later.

Thank you, John McCain, for providing us with this gift that keeps on giving!!!

TPM LIVEWIRE
Palin Clan Brawl: Seven Amazing Moments Revealed By The Police Report
By Ahiza Garcia Published October 9, 2014, 5:26 PM EDT

It may have been the fight of the decade, at least in Alaska. And on Thursday, many of its salacious details were laid bare when Anchorage police finally released their report on what has become known as the "Palin Brawl."

Police said prosecutors had decided no one involved would face charges over the Sept. 6 melee. The incident took place at a house party that was attended by the former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her family, and several members of the Palin clan ended up physically involved. But the report depicted the ordeal as a blood-splattered, drunken mess.

Some witnesses had already spoken to the media about the brawl. And the Palins themselves had made vague references to the alleged incident via social media. But police had yet to weigh in other than to say that they were investigating a fight and that members of the Palin family had been in attendance.

Below, some of the highlights from the official police report of the fight that left members of the Palin family bloodied and bitter.

1. The Palins Tried To Start Another Altercation After Cops Arrived

Witnesses previously said the Palin family got in their stretch Hummer limousine and left the house party before the police arrived. But the report released on Thursday made it clear the family was still at the scene and were even interviewed by Anchorage cops outside the house.

In one of the most striking parts of the report, officers described a moment where Todd Palin and his daughter Willow apparently got involved in yet another altercation with the owner of the house, Korey Klingenmeyer, while police were watching.

"Todd Palin came walking back to the driveway confronting Corey (sic) asking him if he called his daughter a 'bitch,'" one officer wrote in the report. "Willow Palin walked up and also got involved flipping Corey off and getting loud. We eventually separated everyone and the Palin family ended up leaving."

2. Officers Thought The Palins Tried To Hide Track From Them

One officer wrote that when he arrived, he saw a white limousine parked at an intersection near the party. Several people were walking with a bloodied man toward the limo and, according to the officer, "pushing him in as I approached, appearing intent on keeping him away from me."

The bloodied man turned out to be Track Palin, according to the report.

"He appeared heavily intoxicated and he acted belligerent at first but I was able to get him to step out of the car and a female who turned out to be his mother, told him to talk to me," an officer wrote. "He came out of the car to talk and was in the presence of his father, Todd Palin, mother, Sarah Palin, and he identified himself as Track Palin."

3. 'Heavily Intoxicated' Bristol Described Being Dragged By Her Legs

Bristol Palin, the family's eldest daughter, was seen by witnesses punching the owner of the house, Korey Klingenmeyer, multiple times before the family was told to leave the party.

When police spoke to her at the scene, one officer wrote, she appeared to be "heavily intoxicated and upset." She described the situation in a far different way than others had.

Here's how one of the officers summarized her statement:

Quote:
She stated she didn't know who Corey (sic) was and then said that Korey had drug her across the lawn by her legs and was calling her a cunt and a slut. She said the guy with the red shirt was dragging her., When asked how it started, she said that her little sister told her that a girl had hit her so she walked up and asked what 40 year old was pushing her sister and that's when some guy walked up and pushes her on the ground. And starts dragging her on the lawn and calling her names. She says that she walks out into the cul dr sac (sic) and they took her sandals and sunglasses. She says she then saw Track getting attacked so she tried to help him out. She said she didn't know what else happened and didn't have a clue whether she hit him or not.

4. 'The Entire Event Was On Camera'

Officers wrote that both the owner of the house, Klingenmeyer, and a guest of the party, Mark McKenna, mentioned that there was footage of the brawls. But if any did exist, police said they were never able to get a copy.

According to the report, Klingenmeyer specifically named a witness he thought had videoed the incident. But when police followed up with Klingenmeyer two days later, he told them that he had spoken to guests at the party and no one had any video.

In McKenna's case, he was overheard by an officer "telling one of the girls involved that the entire event was on camera," according to the report. When he was confronted by the officer, however, "he said there was not actually any camera."

5. Police Made No Mention Of Interviewing Sarah Palin

In the report, police made brief references to having interactions with Sarah and Todd Palin. However, there was no indication in the report that either of them were interviewed by police.

6. Willow Told Cops Other Party Guests Were Saying 'Fuck The Palins'

Another one of the Palin daughters, Willow, apparently expressed frustration at the way police were handling the incident. She said her sister Bristol had been attacked and that people seemed to be ganging up on the Palin family, according to the report.

"Willow Palin was extremely agitated saying she did not understand why we let the people walk away that were involved," one officer wrote. "She then started talking about how Corey assaulted her sister Bristol and that several guys were on top of her sister when she was on the ground. She alleged that an older lady pushed her and that people were saying things like 'Fuck the Palins.'"

7. Track Palin Apparently Tried To Pick A Fight With His Father

Officers talked to a witness, Brian Horscel, who said that earlier in the evening he had seen yet another altercation involving the Palins. He almost tried to stop it, he told the police, until he realized who was involved

From the report: "He said that earlier he did see Track trying to start a fight with his dad, Todd, and he was about to step in until he found out that it was Todds (sic) son that was trying to fight him."

Sounds like a transcript from Jerry Springer.

Typical drunken, redneck party. You betcha! ;)

Actually, that's not true. I've been to drunken redneck parties. No one fought. In fact, the one's I attended would get sloppy friendly with everyone being your "best buddy". Most of them were in small town Alabama where redneck is personified. The best ones were when I was pregnant and couldn't drink . Gives you a new perspective on the behavior of drunks. :lol

I don't know what you would call this.

The Palin Brawl Police Tapes - Annotated Edition
By Ahiza Garcia Published October 21, 2014, 7:18 PM EDT

Amid the crackle and chaos of audio released by the Anchorage Police Department on Tuesday, an unmistakable voice could be heard.

"Did you find your necklace?" the woman could be heard saying. "Track, that is such a God thing. See?"

The voice almost certainly belonged to former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. The audio was released as part of hours of recordings made by Anchorage cops in the aftermath of an alcohol-fueled brawl at a house party in the city in September.

The recordings were released along with photos from the scene, and they documented the surreal situation police were faced with when they rolled up to the party. People were scattering and the Palin family was hovering around a stretch Hummer limousine they had brought with them that night.

Previously, eyewitnesses had largely blamed the Palins for the brawls, and police documented their findings in reports. But ultimately, prosecutors decided to bring no charges.

The audio that has now been released offered a glimpse of the scene. Palin's adult children, Track and Bristol, could be heard telling their stories to the investigators. Meanwhile Sarah Palin spent time reminding her children throughout it all of one of the important things in life: not to cuss.

Here are a few of the best (or worst) moments from the audio. All of the recordings that were released are embedded below.

'That Was Sarah Palin'

In one of the recordings, a witness could be heard talking to an officer about the fights that night. At one point the man paused, and wanted to make sure the officer knew the severity of the situation.

"The lady that came up with the glasses," the man said. "That was Sarah Palin."

The cop let out an audible sigh, and said, "Okay."

"I know. Nice evening," the man said.

"Yeah," the officer said. "Sounds like it."

'Such A God Thing'

Another of the audio recordings began with the sounds of shouting and general chaos. Amid it all, Sarah Palin could be heard pretty clearly talking about a necklace that belonged to her son, Track Palin, which they thought had been lost forever during the altercations.

"Did you find your necklace?" Sarah Palin said. "Track, that is such a God thing. See?"

"Track, that went to Iraq and Afghanistan," Palin continued. "Let me see it. I can't believe you found it. Let me put it in my pocket."

As yelling and chatter continued all around, Palin kept focused on one thing.

"He found his necklace," Palin said. "He found his St. George."

'Our Side'

Yet another audio recording began with yelling, cursing and the sound of a child crying. Sarah Palin's voice could be heard briefly urging her son, Track Palin, to cooperate.

Quickly another woman's voice could be heard.

"Stop," the woman said. "Let's get them on our side. Okay?"

'Basically A Gay Guy, But He's Not'

Soon after in the same audio, an officer could be heard escorting Track Palin to a quieter area so that they could talk. From the sound of it, his father, Todd Palin, was by his side.

Track began to explain to the officer how his father's 50th birthday celebration that night turned into a melee.

"Alright this is my old man," Track said. "It's his birthday, okay. So we're at this party in Wasilla. Dude, surprise him with a new truck, new trailer, new wrap on the trailer. Everything was fucking kosher."

As he described what happened, Todd Palin interjected periodically. Both Track and Todd agreed that the fighting started when "a father-son team" punched their friend, "Steve."

"He's like a little pussy you know what I'm saying?" Track said, referring to Steve. "Like he's not gonna fight nobody. … Most innocent, basically a gay guy, but he's not."

'P-A-L-I-M-O'

At one point in the audio, an officer asked Track Palin for his name. Track began to comply, spelling it out in the phonetic alphabet often used by members of law enforcement and the military.

"Track," he said. "T-R-Tango, Romeo, Alfa, Charlie, Kilo."

But when it came to spelling his last name, Track became a little more dodgy.

"Papa, Alfa, Lima, India, Mike, Oscar," Track Palin said, spelling P-A-L-I-M-O. "You know what that means? Like I mean --"

"Palimo?" the officer asked.

"What?" Track said. "No. See he didn't know what --"

That's when his father interrupted.

"This is not a time to be joking," Todd Palin said. "It's Palin."

"I'm not trying to be a dick, man," Track said later. "I'm sorry. I just seen a lotta' shows on cops."

'They're All White'

At another point in the audio, an officer asked Track Palin to describe the people who had "attacked" him.

"They're all like little bitches," Track said.

"You gotta help me out, man," the officer said. "White, black, Native?"

"They're all white," Track responded before describing their body types. "If it was one-on-one, like I would beat the shit outta them. You know what I'm saying? Sorry."

"No, I understand," the cop reassured him.

'Took Me By My Legs And Dragged Me Across The Lawn'

In one of the audio recordings, Bristol Palin spoke to an officer, saying that she had been attacked by Korey Klingenmeyer, the owner of the house where the party took place.

"Can we talk in here because I have my 5-year-old in here asleep?" Bristol said, before beginning to tell her version of what happened.

"I don't know who Korey is," she said. "Korey pushed me on the ground and took me by my legs and dragged me across the lawn calling me a 'cunt' and calling me a 'slut.' I don't know Korey. I don't know Korey."

The police officer then took photos of Bristol's injuries.

"I don't want my face in a picture right now," she said. "There's nothing on my face except for beer and makeup."

Bristol's own "reality" exposed ~ :ey ~ Sooz

Bristol Palin claims family’s drunken brawl never happened, even after audio proof released
Scott Kaufman | 23 Oct 2014 at 08:49 ET

Bristol Palin responded to the release of police audio from a brawl she and her family were involved in on September 6, 2014 — not by addressing any of the material heard on the tapes directly, but by dismissing the combatants as self-promoters and complaining about liberal media bias.

Instead of discussing the substance of her tearful discussion with police officers, she complained that the media distorts stories about her family because “the truth just isn’t profitable.” However, she finally decided to address the “rumors” about the “brawl” in which her family was involved.

“Instead of listening to all the people who weren’t there — people who claim they heard this from their cousin/brother/sister-in-law/step-daughter/long lost little brother — let me tell you what actually happened,” she wrote on Patheos the day after the police released audio from the scene.

Bristol claimed that a friend of the family, whose name was not mentioned, “got knocked out from a cheap shot from behind” by a self-promoting Palin-hater who was tweeting that he was “about to get famous.” She did not provide a link to that tweet, nor a screen capture of it.

A large woman then pushed her sister, Willow, who ran to the car in which Bristol was sitting, and she went to confront the woman, but she was unable to because a “towering” man — “probably at 6 foot something and over 200 pounds” — allegedly yelled “you c*nt! Get the f*ck out of here, you slut!” at her.

This man, also unnamed in Bristol’s account, then pushed her to the ground and held her there “until someone got me out of the situation” through means she does not bother to describe. According to her, “that’s it — that’s the story.”

Media accounts of the brawl could not have been true, she continued, because witnesses said she swung repeatedly “with a strong right hook,” but she is left-handed and still has “a perfect manicure on all ten of my nails.”

She concluded by noting that Joe Biden’s son was kicked out of the Navy Reserves for using cocaine, and Clinton “family pal” Edward Mezvinsky was convicted of wire, bank, and mail fraud. She claimed that “you didn’t” hear about those stories — both of which were covered extensively in the national media — because “the friends and family of the revered liberal elite are treated like delicate China. In the meantime, I was pushed and held down by some guy…and the media salivates like a dog that’s just been given a bone.”

Thinking about it, there's always some family scandal in Presidents' families: Billy Carter and his goofball, hillbilly antics and Billy Beer; Bill Clinton's brother Roger and his cocaine/prison record and general pain-in-the-ass-ness; G. Bush Sr.'s crooked brother Neil and the savings and loan disaster; Nixon's brother had some trouble about his bankrupt restaurant and a loan from Howard Hughes; GW Bush's daughters had some law trouble involving underage drinking, as I recall; Reagan's kids Mike and Ron had public spats; One of Obama's relatives got arrested for DUI and was in the country illegally; There are probably more cases of Presidents' and Presidential candidates' miscreant relatives we don't hear about. But that Palin crowd takes the cake.

Good old Ike didn't have those problems, and neither did good old Harry Truman.

I'll bet Billy Graham has some moonshiners at family reunions.
