This is becoming ridiculous and placing a burden on the majority for one. This article talks about the rise in allergies and what may be causes, such as C-sections (baby not exposed to bacteria in the birth canal) and the sudden decision to advise parents to avoid allergenic foods until a child is older. I'll just post the opening sentences and you can read the rest if you want at the link.

Why are potentially deadly food allergies in kids on the rise?

TORONTO – Seven-year-old Ontario student Elodie Glover has potentially life-threatening allergies to dairy and egg, and as a result, a dairy ban has been imposed at her Hamilton elementary school.

Dear Parent;

I'm truly sorry you kid has allergies.
Deal with it.

Thank you,

Your Local School Board

My opinion..

The school should carry an epi-pens for her. With the nurse, the cafeteria and in her classroom. Personnel in each of the locations should be trained to recognize the symptoms of anaphylactic shock and how to use the pen.

I would not change the menu for the entire school. The child's mother should be tasked with preparing and providing the child's lunch.

I saw her mother on tv today. Her biggest complaint seems to be that her little girl can't have lunch with the rest of her friends. She has to have lunch in a room separate from the rest. It is heart breaking for the little one but that is still no reason why all the children should have to adhere to her dietary restrictions.
