Another article I read said the "associate" was his boyfriend.

Citi banker found dead in luxe apartment; foul play suspected

Citigroup Managing Director Shawn Miller was found Tuesday in the bathtub of his luxurious Greenwich apartment in New York City with his throat cut, authorities said Wednesday.

The police are investigating the incident, but they are "pretty sure it's homicide," a New York Police Department spokesman told CNBC.

One of the banker's associates tried to contact Miller to check up on an undisclosed medical condition, the NYPD spokesman said. But when Miller did not respond, he reached out to the building's superintendent who also failed to reach Miller. The superintendent used the master key to enter Miller's apartment and found the banker in the bathroom.

The NYPD received a 911 call at 3:11 p.m. on Tuesday A knife was not found at the scene, according to officials.

Miller, 42, headed the environment and social risk management division at Citigroup, the company confirmed with CNBC.

"We are deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with Shawn's family at this time," Citigroup said in a statement to CNBC.

A knife was not found at the scene, according to officials.

A horse and an airplane were also not found at the scene. Neither was a competent journalist.

oskar, did you skip over the very first sentence, which notes "was found ... with his throat cut"?

I read it but it's still a poorly constructed sentence.

The sentence is fine ~ altho I'll give you its placement immediately following the "his throat cut" might fit the "flow" better ~

Were there scissors at the scene? a straight razor? a saw? a sword?

I preferred this:
The police are investigating the incident, but they are "pretty sure it's homicide,"

"Pretty sure"?
