On retrospect I agree the Ferguson grand jury verdict was tainted; I think any grand jury investigation of any police killing has the potential of corruption because the grand jury hears only what the prosecution presents and the process becomes inverted with the prosecutor providing defense for the officer. This is why Wilson's testimony being admitted was so out of order.

It would be in the best interests of all to have a second look at this - especially for the safety of police officers.

IMO a special prosecutor/or public trial should be called for on any police involved killing which is questionable as to necessity. The caveat is as Jim pointed out is how many officers will be maimed/killed from hesitancy to use their weapon.

Already 3 cops dead because other cops were too anxious to use their weapons.

Since the NY murders, I think the opposite will happen. Officers are stressed, so it's "kill or be killed" right now.

Unfortunately you may be right Rose-dunno. Guess it would depend on the individual officer's personality-

Hardly surprising since every half-wit in Murrica can get a gun.

I posted this before but I think it's important. Notice who filed the charges against a BLACK cop.

St. Louis County Police Officer Charged
July 25, 2014 10:20 PM

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) — A 13-year veteran of the St. Louis County Police Department is charged with felony assault after striking a MetroLink passenger on the hand with his expandable baton following an argument.

The county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Friday charged 44-year-old Dawon Gore of Ferguson with second-degree assault. He was jailed on a $3,500, cash-only bond.

Gore is accused of using excessive force against an unnamed 24-year-old light-rail passenger in late April at the Hanley Road station in Clayton. He’s been assigned to the department’s MetroLink unit since May 2012.

A police press release says the investigation was forwarded to prosecutor Bob McCullough in early May with a recommendation to press charges.
