The New Republic is running a retrospective titled "100 Years, 100 Thinkers", which "... ranks the minds who've defined our century" ~ there are 20 categories included and I'm in the process of working my way thru all 20 ~ it's interactive, so use the above link to access it ~

Obviously, not everyone will agree with all the choices ~ and some of the choices are people I've never heard of, who I see as the "unsung heroes" ~ but it really is fascinating on what these 100 minds have set in motion and the why some were chosen ~
