In response to Protestant area, I thought New Jersey was the most Catholic state in the US, but it isn't. It's the second most Catholic state in the union.

Any guesses on what's the most Catholic? (Don't cheat and look it up)

one of the colonies was established as a catholic settlement. Maryland, I think. Not by Roger Williams. That's all I can remember.
