I can understand how this happened. I once killed a tiny kitten in our dryer. She climbed in, I took her out, then I was distracted. She climbed in again and I didn't see her as I tossed in the rest of the load. It was only after I turned on the dryer and heard the thump, thump that I knew something was wrong. Already too late. :\'( My friend did the same thing too.
Cats are sneaky and love to climb into boxes. This cat probably climbed in and curled up out of view, sleeping. It's not like they are yappy like dogs. At least she is alive and well now.

Pet cat accidentally packed into cardboard box for 36 days during move

You’ve probably heard the old saying “a cat has nine lives.”

Well if that’s true, then one pet cat must have felt like nine lifetimes had passed after she was accidentally packed into a cardboard box during the family move.

Thirty-six days later, the Barth family discovered their pet cat Mee Moowe while unpacking their belongings in their new home.

“We were ecstatic and overjoyed that she was alive, and couldn’t believe it,” Ashley Barth told Hawaii News Now.

The story begins this past September, on the day the Barth family was moving from their Virginia home to the island of Maui.

“New World International [movers] came, and I trusted them enough to leave them at my home and take my baby to her doctor’s appointment,” Ashley Barth said. “When I returned, [Mee Moowe] was gone. We couldn’t find her anywhere.”

Because the cat had been a part of the family for nearly a decade, they delayed their move for a couple of days while they waited for her to turn up.

Eventually they had to go, believing the beloved pet had ran away.

Well just like the song goes, the cat came back – but it wasn’t the very next day, but 36 days later.

That’s when the Barths were unpacking their newly-arrived belongings in their Hawaii home, and noticed one of the boxes was meowing.

“I knew right away that it was her. As soon as I heard her meow I knew it was her,” said Barth.

Somehow, Mee Moowe had survived for over a month without food or water. When the family discovered her, she was half her previous size and could barely walk.

Now the family is wondering how the movers could possibly have packed away their pet cat.

“Ultimately this is their responsibility. I trusted them to come in my home and to do a job for me, and to return and have this be done was very, very disappointing and very heartbreaking.”

“She was tortured.”
