I've been getting several phone calls from "caller unknown" in area code 844, which I have consciously not answered ~ today I looked up area code 844 ... and this is what I found:

Area code 844 is a future area code reserved for toll-free calls in which the calling party is not charged. Instead, the telephone carrier charges the cost of the call to the called party.

Apparently, now is the future ~ :g

lol sooz. What's happened (I think) is that they are running out of toll free numbers with the prefixes of "800" or "the other one, I forget, LOL" that are NOT blocked by the people they have been calling. We routinely block every spam call that comes to our cells as I'm sure many other people do. :angel It's so easy too. Click and hold on the number or the "i" icon (depending on your phone), go to "block this number" and click. It's done.
