Lots Of People Say They'll Quit Over Vaccine Mandates, But Research Shows Few Do
Dana Farrington

Surveys have shown that as many as half of unvaccinated workers say they will leave their jobs if they're forced to get the COVID-19 shot, but in reality few of them actually quit. That's according to an article in The Conversation, a nonprofit news organization that covers academic research.

Researchers looked at companies that have vaccine mandates in place and saw that, so far, only a fraction of workers leave their jobs when it comes down to it.

"In other words, vaccine mandates are unlikely to result in a wave of resignations — but they are likely to lead to ...

Would have been more effective if they paused the "doctor" so the scientist could counter each false claim.

‘Hard to believe’: Scientists alarmed by COVID’s diabetes link, particularly in children
JASON GALE AND BLOOMBERG

When Ziyad Al-Aly’s research team told him how often diabetes appeared to strike Covid-19 survivors, he thought the data must be wrong, so he asked his five colleagues to crunch the numbers again.

Weeks later, they returned the same findings after sifting through millions of patient records. By then Al-Aly had also gone digging into the scientific literature and was starting to come to terms with an alarming reality: Covid-19 isn’t just deadlier for people with diabetes, it’s also triggering the metabolic disease in many who didn’t previously have it.

“It took a while to convince me,” said Al-Aly, who directs the clinical epidemiology center at the Veterans Affairs St. Louis Health Care System in Missouri. “It was hard to believe that Covid could be doing this.”

Among Covid-19’s many ripple effects, the worsening of the global diabetes burden could carry a heavy public-health toll. The underlying mechanisms stoking new-onset diabetes aren’t clear, though some doctors suspect the SARS-CoV-2 virus may ...

"Being vaccinated against COVID-19 is the new reality of international travel — many of the destinations Kiwis want to visit are already closed to unvaccinated visitors," Air New Zealand's Chief Executive Officer Greg Foran said in a statement.

So............Covid has quietly dropped out of the news with the exception of a few blurbs here and there. Commercials are touting that "finally we can get together". It's no wonder that people are still not following mandates and are flouting vaccinations. Just an observation.

Sununu says Rep. Ken Weyler should lose his role as House Finance Chair over COVID-19 misinformation

Sununu’s statement comes after Weyler, 79, emailed colleagues materials full of COVID conspiracy theories, including a discredited, false report that claims COVID deaths are driven by a plot orchestrated out of Vatican City, Washington D.C. and London.

“It’s all one huge puppet theatre, where the majority of the people
— even most of those who are complicit — haven’t got the slightest clue what is going on, and how everyone is being played,” the report states.

Among other false claims, the report says some COVID vaccines include “living organism(s) with tentacles.”

Blurbs here and there on our news too. I would have thought the Covid/diabetes story would raise more eyebrows but the first I heard about it was here.

Jeffrey Burnham, who was arrested in West Virginia, is accused of killing his brother, his sister-in-law and another woman in Maryland last week.

A Maryland man accused of killing his pharmacist brother and two other people had complained that he believed his brother was harming people with the Covid-19 vaccines, court documents say.

mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines Are Effective Against Most Variants, Including Delta

The emergence of new variants of viruses is an unfortunate consequence of the pathogens' ability to mutate. The more they infect, the higher the chance that new variants will emerge. When it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic, the major concern is that an emerging variant will render vaccines ineffective.

New data suggests that things still look good, at least when it comes to mRNA vaccines. As reported in ...

Unvaccinated People Need to Bear the Burden
Beyond limiting the coronavirus’s flow from hot spots to the rest of the country, allowing only vaccinated people on domestic flights will change minds, too.

By Juliette Kayyem

When you go to the airport, you see two kinds of security rules. Some apply equally to everyone; no one can carry weapons through the TSA checkpoint. But other protocols divide passengers into categories according to how much of a threat the government thinks they pose. If you submit to heightened scrutiny in advance, TSA PreCheck lets you go through security without taking off your shoes; a no-fly list keeps certain people off the plane entirely. Not everyone poses an equal threat. Rifling through the bags of every business traveler and patting down every preschooler and octogenarian would waste the TSA’s time and needlessly burden many passengers.

The same principle applies to limiting the spread of the coronavirus. The number of COVID-19 cases keeps growing, even though remarkably safe, effective vaccines are widely available, at least to adults. Many public agencies are responding by reimposing masking rules on everyone. But at this stage of the pandemic, tougher universal restrictions are not the solution to continuing viral spread. While flying, vaccinated people should no longer carry the burden for unvaccinated people. The White House has rejected a nationwide vaccine mandate—a sweeping suggestion that the Biden administration could not easily enact if it wanted to—but a no-fly list for unvaccinated adults is an obvious step that the federal government should take. It will help limit the risk of transmission at destinations where unvaccinated people travel—and, by setting norms that restrict certain privileges to vaccinated people, will also help raise the ...

And the military is sticking to their guns

Navy Sets Timeline and Discharge Details for Those Refusing the COVID-19 Vaccine

With COVID-19 vaccines now mandatory for all military members, the Navy has announced plans to start processing for discharge those who refuse vaccination without a pending or approved exemption.

The Navy’s mandate began at the end of August after the release of the Secretary of Defense memo instructing military departments to enact the new vaccination requirement for DoD uniformed personnel who are not medically or administratively exempt. With the release of ALNAV 062/21 and NAVADMIN 190/21, all service members were given 90 days to comply.

Now, NAVADMIN 225/21, released Oct. 13, sets a deadline for all active-duty Sailors to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 28, while those in the selected reserve have until Dec. 28. The message also outlines the consequences for failing to comply.

This deadline makes Nov. 14 and Dec. 14 the final days active and selected reserve, respectively, can receive the second of the two required shots for a two-dose vaccine or the single dose of a one-dose vaccine, and complete the 14-day waiting period required to achieve full vaccination.

Sailors must be prepared to execute their mission at all times, in places throughout the world, including where ...

WI brewery sues school boards for indulging 'Tucker Carlson-watching zombies' and ignoring science

Our Super PAC should NOT be funding these lawsuits. We always thought that our government, the teacher's union, the ACLU, the hospitals, the nurse's unions, or any other number of progressive groups or "academies of smart people who understand stuff" should be stepping up to block the alt-right, anti-science, and anti-history nonsense that has overcome school boards across our state.
Wisconsin communities have exploded with the Delta variant because many school districts have dropped all forms of Covid mitigation that were in place last year due to the shrieking hordes of Tucker Carlson-watching zombies separated from their cerebrums and driven only by their lizard brains.

Hundreds of samples from Ontario grocery stores examined for coronavirus; all test negative
Marlene Leung

A new study tested more than 900 samples from high-touch surfaces in Ontario grocery stores for SARS-CoV-2 and found zero positive results, suggesting the risk of exposure to the virus in grocery stores is low.

Maria Corradini, one of the study's authors and an associate professor at the University of Guelph’s department of food science, said the results add to the growing evidence that transmission of coronavirus via surfaces is “very improbable.”

This means practices that were adopted by some in the early days of the pandemic, such as wiping down your groceries when you bring them home or letting them sit out in the cold for hours are not necessary.

“We can have some peace of mind and engage with our groceries like we used to before,” Corradini told CTVNews.ca in a phone interview.

For the study, researchers collected 957 samples from four different grocery stores in Ontario in October and November 2020. The grocery stores were located in urban and suburban locations across southern Ontario, meaning all were serving population-dense areas, and were ...
