There have been no fewer than 7 fire engines, 5 ambulances, and assorted other emergency personnel racing north on the road outside my building ~ now there are 2 helicopters flying very low over the lakefront heading north as well ~ I've checked and there's no news yet of what is going on either on TV or online ~ but it's gotta be something BIG to require that much help ~

No one was injured in a fire in a high-rise apartment building in the Edgewater Beach neighborhood Wednesday morning..

Chicago fire crews responded to a report of a fire about 9:50 a.m. The alarm was struck out about 10:25 p.m., a department spokesman said.

Maybe so, roseanne ~ and thanks for finding that ~ the timing seems in line ~ and my neighborhood is Edgewater ~ but the Edgewater Beach area is south of me and all these wailing sirens and helicopters were headed north ~ what was alarming to me was how many emergency personnel were rushing ... somewhere ~ still nothing on the local news ~ I'm sure there will be something later ~
