Led by the brood mare mom, the entire Duggar family are grifters, looking for the easy $$$ ~ :ey ~ Sooz

The Duggars Are Broke or Just Greedy as Hell
Samantha Allen
Since getting kicked off TLC, the ‘19 Kids and Counting’ family are working their ‘fans’ for donations.

The Duggars could be in financial trouble or maybe they’re just getting greedy. Since losing their TLC show in mid-July amid the scandal surrounding eldest son Josh Duggar’s confessed molestation of five children—four of them his sisters—members of the embattled fundamentalist family have issued four separate calls for public donations.

First, shortly after the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting, Duggar daughter Jill and husband Derick Dillard asked again for donations to their tax-deductible organization Dillard Family Ministries, which funds their evangelical work in Central America. The Dillards currently accept donations online with suggested monthly donations ranging from $15 to $100.

The Arkansas Secretary of State’s website shows that the nonprofit paperwork for Dillard Family Ministries was filed on June 17, a little less than a month after the allegations against Josh first came to light.

Then, shortly after TLC reportedly confirmed the cancellation of her wedding special two weeks ago, newly-engaged Duggar niece Amy gave out an address on Instagram for any fans who would like to send “cards and etc.,” promising to “personally hand write” a letter to anyone who sent a card or—wink, wink—an et cetera. Amy denied she had any financial motivations for the post.

“For us it’s not really about the gifts or money, but we would like the chance to personally thank everyone!” she wrote.

Next, on or around July 30, the social media hive mind spotted a donate button on the Duggar children’s YouTube channel Duggar Studios, which currently has just 15 videos, none of them longer than 10 minutes. The last video was uploaded three months ago and it is only 12 seconds long. After widespread outcry on Twitter, the donate button was removed.

But Duggar Studios’ fundraising efforts continued. On July 31, their Twitter account advertised a $20 heather grey T-shirt featuring the YouTube channel’s logo.

The merchandise page for the shirt promises that “[t]he contribution you make, when buying these t-shirts, will enable Duggar Studios to produce more quality videos.” So far, their definition of “quality videos” includes things like the Duggar boys doing donuts in the snow and sinking a full-court basketball shot. The T-shirt appeared on the merch page in late June as TLC was reportedly in the midst of deliberating the future of the family’s reality show.

The pattern has tabloids buzzing that the family is bleeding money but talk of the Duggars going flat broke is likely premature. As International Business Times reports, several Duggars still have lucrative speaking deals and the family does not appear to have cut back on their spending—although the latter is not necessarily an indication of good financial standing in and of itself.

But the immediate loss of the estimated $25,000 to $40,000 they once made per episode of 19 Kids and Counting is almost certainly affecting the family’s bottom line.

But the immediate loss of the estimated $25,000 to $40,000 they once made per episode of 19 Kids and Counting is almost certainly affecting the family’s bottom line, especially after lost book deals and endorsements are taken into account.

Although patriarch Jim Bob Duggar owns a real estate agency, the adult Duggar children’s sources of income are much less clear. Josh, 27, resigned from his salaried position as executive director of the ultra-conservative Family Research Council in the midst of his sex abuse scandal.

According to varying reports, next-eldest son John David, 25, owns a tow truck business and works as an Arkansas constable, a local law enforcement position that comes with little to no pay. His twin Jana plays the piano and may or may not be training to be a midwife. All of the children have been homeschooled and none have graduated from a traditional four-year college.

The Duggars famously pride themselves on living within their means by budgeting for groceries, buying used cars, making their own laundry detergent, and cutting their own hair, which only makes their recent pattern of public requests for money all the more conspicuous. Racked by scandal and suddenly cut off from their seven-year long stream of TLC money, the future of the Duggars’ media empire is increasingly uncertain.

The Daily Beast reached out to the Duggar family for comment through their official media request page and received an automatic reply that included the following: “If you are interested in purchasing a book you can click on the link at Duggarfamily.com for book sales.”

Duggars ‘still stunned’ fans didn’t forgive and forget their family molestation scandal: report
Travis Gettys / 19 Aug 2015 at 11:11 ET

The Duggars remain shocked that they lost their reality TV show because the public didn’t just forget about their eldest son’s “mistake” of repeatedly molesting his sisters and at least one other girl.

A source who “worked closely” with the evangelical Christian family told People magazine that the Duggars are having a hard time adjusting to life after TLC canceled their popular reality show, “19 Kids and Counting,” after revelations that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar helped cover up sex abuse by their then-teenage son more than a decade ago.

“They are still stunned that this is how it has all gone down,” the source said. “I think they are still trying to absorb the fact that their life has so radically changed.”

Josh Duggar, now 28, resigned from the anti-LGBT Family Research Council in May, shortly after the revelations were made public, and the cable network suspended broadcasts of the long-running program before eventually ending production.

The Duggars are desperate to get back on TV, according to other recent reports, including a possible spin-off where the parents counsel sex abuse victims that would capitalize on a one-hour TLC special, “Breaking the Silence,” set for Aug. 30.

“The better part of the last decade has been doing their show, and to have that removed – and instead for there to be this intense scrutiny of their every move – just isn’t something you get used to overnight,” the source told People.

The Duggars are reeling from the public backlash to their reaction to the sex abuse revelations, the source said, because they “truly felt people would understand and eventually be okay with it.”

The couple sent their son to stay with a Christian counselor — an acolyte to the disgraced founder of the Institute of Basic Life Principles — who taught the teen to control his “lust” by doing carpentry work.

It’s not clear that he received any counseling for his pattern of sexual abuse, and the parents did not report the crimes to police but instead told a law enforcement acquaintance who was twice convicted later on child pornography charges.

Many viewers were appalled that the Duggars claimed during political debates on marriage equality that LGBT people were child molesters after their son molested their own daughters.

“Jim Bob and Michelle love their son, and they love when they can spend time with his family,” the source said. “But every time they’re photographed with him, a story gets made out of it that rehashes the whole mess – and it’s painful for everyone.”

According to In Touch, which broke the Josh Duggar molestation scandal that led to a flood of advertisers abandoning the popular Christian family show, the mother of nineteen wrote some time back that she had been crying and dropping off to sleep from exhaustion prior to the sexual molestation scandal.

“It was 1:00 AM in the morning as I stood folding laundry with tears streaming down my cheeks,” Duggar wrote. “Feelings of being overwhelmed flooded my mind. I cried aloud, ‘LORD I NEED YOUR HELP, I can’t do it all! I feel so inadequate! Diapers, dishes, laundry, meals, cleanup, school lessons, baths, hugs, kisses, correction…’ My list seemed to go on and on.”

Gee, who would have thought having 19 kids would be overwhelming?

O!M!G! This is absolutely priceless. But not surprising. The more vocal and public the piousness in today's world, the deeper the perversions (sins). JMO and if this is all true.

Josh Duggar's name linked to multiple Ashley Madison accounts

For the majority of the last two years, Josh Duggar lived a seemingly wholesome conservative life, one wherein he raised his four children and held deeply religious views. It turns out he had another life, one behind the keyboard and one that showed him very open to cheating on his wife.

In data released in the wake of the hacking of AshleyMadison.com, a website dedicated to helping married men and women have secretive affairs, Josh's name appears, and it's hard to argue that it's not him.

In a report from Gawker, someone using a credit card belonging to a Joshua J. Duggar, with a billing address that matches the home in Fayetteville, Arkansas owned by his grandmother paid $986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions from February of 2013 until May of 2015 -- one when when he lived in Arkansas, and the other when he lived in Washington, D.C.

In his Ashley Madison profile, Josh listed a variety of acts, some of them lascivious in nature, that he would like a partner for, including "conventional sex," "experimenting with sex toys," "sharing fantasies" and "bubble bath for 2." He also has a laundry list of qualities that he likes in a woman, including a woman who "has a secret love nest" or a "naughty girl," among others.

According to Gawker, in July 2014, Josh started a second account that was linked to his home in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The hacked data shows that Josh even purchased "affair guarantee" for $250, which ensures that you will have an affair within three months or your money will be refunded. During this time, Josh worked as the executive director of the Family Research Council, a conservative lobbying group in D.C. which seeks "to champion marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society."

In May 2015, Josh resigned from his job as reports surfaced that he molested five girls as a teenager. He also shut down his Ashley Madison accounts, around this time, records show.

Is this really terribly surprising?

AshleyMadison huh?

19 kids being too many should be common sense. Kids are supposed to go to school and socialize with people outside of family should be common sense, too.

The Duggars no nothing about counseling victims of incest is way beyond common sense.

Now it comes out that he has been cheating on his wife.

Josh Duggar Admits to Cheating on Wife Anna: 'I Have Been the Biggest Hypocrite Ever'

Robert Kessler
Yahoo Celebrity
‎August‎ ‎20‎, ‎2015

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife," Duggar — who has four children with his wife, Anna — wrote in a statement. "I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him."

yeah. blah, blah, blah, Jesus, blah blah blah, forgiveness.

more from the article:

He continued, "The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, in my heart I had allowed Satan to build a fortress that no one knew about. As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example."

"I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time," he said.

He didn't get real counseling.

Real counseling doesn't always help either. You have to be committed to getting help.

another funny tweet:

"Am I the ONLY person secretly wishing that one of the people Josh Dugger had an affair with was a man?"

To be honest, the thought DID cross my mind too. :o

I have some amount of sympathy for Josh Duggar. He grew up in ridiculous environment. How can a child get the guidance he needs when there are 18 other kids demanding their parent's attention?

Some may argue that many kids grow up in a difficult situation and don't become pedophiles. That's true, but many have other difficulties, like drug abuse or mental health issues.

And as has been stated, the parents never got him proper counseling.

The Duggars were treated like some ideal family and anyone with a brain knew this wasn't true. Now the truth has come out, but I'll bet there are those saying, "Those poor Duggars - they are treated so bad by the media".

Anna Duggar ‘partly blames herself’ and will never leave her cheating anti-LGBT activist husband: source
Travis Gettys / 21 Aug 2015 at 06:52 ET

Anna Duggar won’t likely leave her husband despite his admitted cheating and will instead blame herself, according to a new report.

Josh Duggar, the former reality TV star and anti-LGBT activist, admitted Thursday to an addiction to pornography and infidelity after reports revealed he paid for two accounts on the adultery website Ashley Madison.

This comes three months after revelations that he molested four of his sisters and a family friend as they slept more than a decade ago, when he was a teenager.

A source told People magazine that Anna Duggar, who gave birth last month to the couple’s fourth child, would likely “absorb some of the blame” for her husband’s cheating.

“Anna will not leave him,” the source said. “As with her in-laws, she is turning more to her faith than ever. She and Josh are probably praying around the clock right now, I would assume.”

Dan Savage: People deserve privacy online — but Josh Duggar is a ‘legitimate target for an outing’

The 27-year-old Josh Duggar blamed Satan for building a “fortress” in his heart — but that statement, along with several others, was edited out of the confession he posted on the family’s website in the hours after it was originally released.

The source, who claims knowledge of the Duggar family, told People that Anna Duggar, also 27, would likely feel pressure from her in-laws, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, to shoulder some of the blame for her husband’s recent disgrace.

“Maybe not publicly, ever, but privately, there will be some suggestion of whether or not she should have been more aware of the pressures Josh was under, of the issues he was facing, and how she could have better counseled him or helped him,” the source said.

Her mother-in-law, Michelle Duggar, advises married women to have sex with their husband whenever he wants.

“Be available,” the 49-year-old said in an interview last year. “Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has. You always need to be available when he calls.”

The family’s popular reality TV show, “19 Kids and Counting,” was dropped by TLC in the wake of the molestation scandal, but the Duggars have been desperately trying to return to television in some way, according to reports.

That appears even less likely now.

The source said Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who are part of the patriarchal Quiverfull religious movement, would be determined to make sure their son and daughter-in-law remained married.

“As for Josh, in this moment, I would assume he feels like his life is ruined,” the source said. “It will be such a steep and practically impossible climb to come back from this.”

I agree with some of what you're saying, John, and I even share a bit of your sympathy for Josh and Anna ~ this is a problem that should be between the two of them instead of being national headlines ~ but I'm thinking [as I commented above] that this level of paternalism is a direct result of strict religious brain-washing ~

She/they will pray and pray and pray and nothing will change.

She is in denial right now, but it may all sink in later. Ya never know.

However, you are right. Their religious brainwashing has made her a victim and him a pervert. Some see him as a victim too, but at 27 he knows that what he did/is doing is wrong and could have sought professional help long ago. jmo

I've been thinking about how we sometimes question certain people's intelligence (that's phrasing it more politely than I usually do).

Are they really any less intelligent than the average person? Or is it that the right set of circumstances led them to "religious brainwashing" as Rosanne and Sooz mention?

Those who think for themselves aren't so easily "brainwashed". OTOH, there are so many sheeple that perhaps that's the norm.
