Well it began a little while ago - have light rain and wind here on and off.. I lost power for about 10 minutes when there was nothing and saw there were outages downtown and around me - does not bode well for that to happen so early. It seems fishy to me - I had expected to lose power, but not that soon. We have had heavy storms and lost power true, but it took awhile, lights flickered and you had some warning. Very strange and made me angry for some reason. May be my nerves because this is dragging on and on and worse to come tomorrow and Sat (they say we may see 20-30" rain). Also, my portable charger for the phone did not come fast enough even from Amazon - so I may be out of touch for a while - if I lose power no internet, phone, cable. I do have a radio to have some contact with what may be happening around me. Have i mentioned how much I hate losing power especially at night. I may be weaving baskets after this lol. .Thanks for asking Chaos. . .

News is using words like "catastrophe" to describe Florence's landfall in NC earlier today ~ I'm keeping my fingers, toes, eyes, and other body parts crossed hoping that KB is and stays safe ~

Any idea where KB lives? Wilmington was hit pretty hard, and Bern. Myrtle Beach didn't get it as bad, i don't think.

I/we only know what she has posted ~ read her #2 post above, which has the most info ~ and her other posts in this thread explain her mindset ~ going thru this kind of trauma must be terrifying, so I'm really happy she connected with a neighbor ~

Murrica just dodged a bullet. It'll only get worse.

Right now I'm more interested if KB dodged it.

Apparently Fayetteville is getting thrashed now. The mayor was on TV telling people to notify their next of kin if they ignore evacuation orders.

I wish KB hadn't decided to stay. I hope she's ok. The power's out for big chunks of the state, so the fact that we haven't heard from her isn't necessarily bad news.

Of course he ignored Roberston's prayers. He was outnumbered by the variety of preachers pronouncing hurricanes to be God's punishment for abortion, gay marriage and women in combat.

I'm sure KB's okay. Probably kind of scared though and let's hope she had enough of everything to get her through a few days.

But they did work. The hurricane didn't hit him - it hurt somebody else.
