Don't know about "fun" but this is funny (and karma is real)

Three Canadian airlines refusing to board 'unruly' Quebec influencers returning from Mexico

Joe Lofaro

Multiple Canadian airlines say they will refuse to board a group of Quebec social media influencers and reality TV stars on their way back from Cancun who were seen partying maskless, vaping, and drinking in the aisles during their departure flight last week.

Video footage of the rowdy Dec. 30 flight on board a Sunwing Airlines chartered plane circulated widely online on Tuesday and has made national headlines — and even drew some harsh words from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Sunwing was the first airline to publicly say it will not let the “unruly” group of passengers board their planes after cancelling their return flight home, alleging in a statement sent to CTV News that the group “did not accept all of the terms” and conditions the airline said were necessary “to ensure the safety of the crew and passengers.”

Now, each person was left to try to book his or her own ticket home after their trip was scheduled to end on Wednesday. However, it appears that they will not have an easy time finding a flight.

Later Wednesday morning, Air Transat followed suit and vowed to not board the people seen in the video as they try to head back home from their holiday in the popular sunset resort town of Tulum, Mexico.

Air Transat wrote on Twitter Wednesday that ...

Sunwing party plane passengers fired, facing other repercussions at home
Selena Ross

Some of the passengers of the now-infamous Sunwing "party plane" on Dec. 30 will be coming home to unhappy employers or worse, with at least two already fired.

Frédérique Dumas-Joyal is one of them, losing her job of several years at Quebec's financial markets authority, the AMF.

"She was fired," Sylvain Théberge, an AMF spokesperson, said Friday.

"The situation required it."

Dumas-Joyal was an information officer at the authority. According to her LinkedIn page, she began working there in 2017, and she has also studied law at Laval University.

She also spent some earlier years working in the hotel industry and is a popular figure in the ...

Canadian partygoers still stuck in Cancun: 'What better way to teach them a lesson'
Event organizer James William Awad and passenger Tony Lee remain unrepentant: 'We didn’t kill anyone'

Looks like that's about to happen - and these don't even relate to what happened on the plane

Possible legal consequences begin for Sunwing passengers after feds spot 12 alleged infractions

Joe Lofaro

Health Canada has started the process for possible legal consequences for some of the passengers on the infamous Sunwing flight to Cancun on Dec. 30.

However, the alleged infractions the agency is looking at are not related to the partying on the plane, according to Quebec prosecutors.

"These files do not cover the events that occurred during the flight, the images of which made the headlines," said Audrey Roy-Cloutier, a spokesperson for the Quebec Crown prosecutors' office.

Health Canada also suggested it wasn't interested in people's behaviour on the flight, but at other alleged problems surrounding the trip.

The Public Health Agency of Canada is “following up on suspected fraudulent cases and non respect of quarantine,” the agency's statement read.

Health Canada originally confirmed to CTV News on Monday that it had sent notices of infractions to Quebec’s prosecutor in relation to the flight's passengers, and that more will be sent later.

In an email, the health agency said that ...

Strikes me that, since they're in Tulum, the rest should grab their luggage and form a reverse convoy and see if Guatemala will allow them in. Since no Canadian airline will take them they might be able to get a European and Asian airline to route them though the Central African Republic or Myannamar and back to Canada. There's no other countries that would let them in and I've not even sure about them.

Tucker Carlson Is Extremely Mad That He No Longer Finds M&M Characters ‘Sexy’

When M&M’s unveiled new and more “inclusive” images last week for their chocolate candy characters, there was a fair amount of online dragging. But few got mad the way Tucker Carlson did. On Friday night, the Fox News host took a break from singing the glories of Viagra and yelling at the homeless to tell his many viewers that he’s mad that he no longer finds M&M characters sexually ...

I just woke up from a six-year-long nap and I can’t believe the incivility of our president!
Alexandra Petri

President Biden called Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a WHAT? I am appalled!

I am appalled and outraged and sad to be alive on a day when such a thing could happen. I should also mention, probably, that I just woke up from a six-year-long nap and have no recollection of any events since early 2016!

I was playing ninepins with some friendly Dutchmen and then I fell asleep and now I have a long white beard and I couldn’t wait to see who the president was — until I saw this. Now I just cannot believe the presidency has sunk to this unprecedented low. I am pretty sure it is an unprecedented low.

Imagine! A president! Saying something like this! Again, I have been asleep for the past six years and have no recollection of anything that happened during them, in case that’s relevant at all. But I doubt that it is. Something like this can surely have no context or precedent.

Denigrating the free press is wrong. Why, once we uproot the cherished norm of presidential civility toward the members of the media, next the president will be accusing the press of manufacturing fake news! He might slide, from there, into something hideously Stalin-esque like calling the press the “enemy of the people," and turn a blind eye when his supporters started threatening journalists — or even encourage it!

That is where such unprecedented statements lead, to things like that, a dark road down which (thank gosh!) we have never ventured as a country and, I hope, never will! Until seconds ago, I was cocooned in moss on a hillside and I have no idea who the last president was. Why is everyone in masks?

Making a remark like this, whether you knew it was audible or not, is so bad that I — no, I cannot imagine a president making such a remark when he knew it was audible. Fortunately, he was not greeted by cheers. Imagine if he had been! I have never seen anything like this. Not even in my long dream, which, again, occupied the past six years.

How will the presidency survive? The president (as we all know and I’m sure would have all said had anything like this ever occurred before) has a duty to not undermine the press. We need a free press for our democracy!

No, thoughts of the alternative cannot be borne. We must nip this unprecedented thing in the bud. Thank God no president has ever said any such thing before that I can recall, although I was until recently lying on a hillside with my eyes shut, dead to the world.

Anyway, I am appalled! Appalled! May we never see anything worse. I’d better go back to sleep now. Wake me up if something else stunning and unprecedented happens, like the president’s children getting in the news, so I can be duly outraged.

Mexico party plane organizer threatens legal action over airlines refusing return flights

Selena Ross

The man who organized a "party plane" of Quebec influencers on an ill-fated New Year's trip to Mexico says he's now planning to sue Sunwing, the airline that flew them down on a charter flight before cancelling their return trip.

James William Awad said in a press conference Thursday that the legal action could extend to Air Canada, which declared the group a safety risk and also refused to fly them home.

"We're working on taking legal action against Sunwing and we may be proceeding against Air Canada as well," he said.

Air Canada and Sunwing have not yet responded to requests for comment.

The group's behaviour on the flight south from Montreal landed them in hot water, with videos showing passengers not wearing masks, partying and drinking in the aisles. Some are reality TV stars, and others have high-profile social media accounts.

One participant also revealed several people tried to fake their COVID-19 tests, though Awad insisted Thursday that wasn't true.

He argued that Canadian airlines -- Sunwing, Air Canada and Air Transat -- had no right to leave the group stranded in Mexico for days past their ...

I can't imagine him succeeding here - after all I'd be very surprised in the airlines' legal departments hadn't been all over this before they announced that they weren't flying any of this group to Canada.

The partiers broke the rules which are part of the contract between airline and passenger, IMO.

Trump rally attendee explains why Biden is actually dead and Trump will bring back Princess Diana

Sarah K. Burris

Former President Donald Trump flew to Conroe, Texas on Saturday for a rally to inspire some of his voters to support Republican candidates despite inter-party fighting.

Awaiting the arrival, Trump supporters shared some of their beliefs and conspiracy theories about President Joe Biden and other topics.

One woman explained that the current version of Joe Biden is actually a "fake," and "the real Biden was assassinated at Gitmo in March 2019." She also thinks that Michael Jackson, JFK, Jr., and Princess Diana will all return to attend Trump's inauguration because he helped them "escape."

A man with an American flag cowboy hat on stood beside a large sign with ...

Judges walk off in protest after Rudy Giuliani unmasked on 'The Masked Singer': report

John Wright

Two judges reportedly walked off the stage in protest after Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani was unmasked as an exiting costumed contestant during a recent taping of Fox's The Masked Singer.

"Deadline hears that as soon as they saw Giuliani, judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke quickly left the stage in protest," the site reported Wednesday night. "Deadline hears that while Jeong and Thicke exited (they eventually returned), fellow judges Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger remained onstage. They bantered with Giuliani, a controversial figure for pressing what is widely derided as a baseless claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from his client Donald Trump."

The incident occurred during ...
